Jordan Bohannon returning for a sixth year

Most will be annoyed that many B1G guards seem to play into their 30’s but think it’s kind of cool.

Guy is staying because he loves the game and his team which is refreshing in a new era where apparently 15 year olds are going to make six figure salaries.

More annoyed about the lack of info in the post. Guard could be football or basketball, but more importantly what school is this? Pretty sure it’s not Michigan so is this OT?

I can assume it’s basketball since you referenced the 15 year old making 6 figures.

Ill give you a pass on the link since it can be wonky, but not that hard.

YIKES!!!

Isn't Bohanon the guy who plays 99% offense and 1% defense?

Iowa teams are mainly offense, so I can see the need for him to return, but can they survive another team that basically plays 4 guys on defense.

My guess is he's going for his PHD too.

Good Luck.

- Yes he is

Iowa teams are mainly offense, so I can see the need for him to return, but can they survive another team that basically plays 4 guys on defense.

- Team would do better without him, too much of a defensive liability and there is better potential behind him that I'm sure would love the opportunity to develop while also contributing more meaningfully to the team

My guess is he's going for his PHD too.

- More likely to sell insurance TBH

When Bohannon plays Michigan next year, he'll be going up against the 4th different starting point guard for Michigan in his career. Walton, Simpson, and Smith all have played against him already

He'll be 24 when Iowa suits up next year, or to put in perspective, 2 years older than Luka Doncic and the same age as Jamal Murray.  We're getting into BYU territory in terms of age.

That said, wish him luck.  I get wanting to play in college as long as possible.

I believe he also took a medical redshirt after serious surgery (is that redundantly repetitive?) on both of his hips, similar to Spike.  I'm fine with anyone who rehabs thru THAT and wants to come back in a leadership role, or any role for that matter.  The anti-Davison, I suppose.

Tina Weymouth wrote this about his Freshman year at Iowa...

Who needs to think when your feet just go
Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon
James Brown, James Brown

Don’t know why this is necessary:

Guy is staying because he loves the game and his team which is refreshing in a new era where apparently 15 year olds are going to make six figure salaries.

if I were 15, I would have loved to have made 100k. Why take a shot at kids with the opportunity? Seems like a really, really odd comparison.

He gets extra education and an opportunity to be a big man on campus before having a desk job for the rest of his life. You can call it a “love of the game” but that’s you projecting while taking a shot at others who also probably love the game and also have an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of their passion and talent.

Honestly, I like this. Bohannon is a sniper but he's enjoyable to watch. I also know he was very involved in the NIL discussion and has mentioned previously that if NIL passes he'd be back. Good move for an Iowa basketball player. He's well-known and popular in Iowa and might be able to make some money on his NIL in that area. And he just seems like a good guy.

Now about Brad Davison...

This kid is desperate for attention and fame.

Also this is flat out wrong.

"Guy is staying because he loves the game and his team which is refreshing in a new era where apparently 15 year olds are going to make six figure salaries.  "

He's staying to keep any semblance of relevancy to push his podcast and try to parlay that into a career when he's finally done playing basketball and racking up meaningless stats. Also happens to be a grade A dbag(speaking from personal experience).

Lump him right in with Davison
