John O'Korn Number 5?

Submitted by canzior on

In the post on the front page about returning players John O'Korn is wearing number 5.  He was #5 at Houston and at St Thomas Aquinas.  Naturally if he's the starter, will he be asked to change his number (?) because that would mean Jabrill couldn't be on the field at the same time.  Not a problem per se, but Jabrill was also number 5 in high school, so perhaps both players are attached to their numbers...?

Perhaps Harbaugh will have a fun competition for them to decide who keeps it?

I will be honest here - through the years, it has troubled me and I have wondered why, even in jest, you could not have a mathematical or scientific constant as your number, even if just for one game. Avogadro's constant, for example, or the speed of light would be kind of amusing on the back of a jersey - "Who is this dude wearing c? He's good."

He wore #14 at some point in high school.

Currently that is Allen Gant and Drake Harris. That said, I do think he goes to #15 next year. Unless Peppers goes to #2 and Mitchell redshirts.

I think he wins the job unless we get another Homerun QB transfer. Offense will should be even better next year.

I dont care what number either of them wear as long as JP plays at a high level and Okorn doesnt screw things up (hard to do with jimmy as your coach)

Since Peppers is the returning starter I would assume he would get to keep it, but if not im sure Harbaugh will have something to do that seems perfectly fitting

O'Korn will have to take #15.  Peppers ain't giving up #5 and no way in hell O'Korn beats him out for it.

He's using twitter in spanish, and he's not even making sense:

Mi Esposa hermosa en todo el mundo.

My beautiful wife in the entire world (worldwide).

Should have been:

Mi Esposa hermosa es el mejor en todo el mundo.

My beautiful wife is the best in the entire world.

If the two players can't amicably solve this quandry between themselves, then neither player shall wear #5.  Instead, each player will be given a separate list of numbers from which to choose.

How 'bout "0" for O'Korn? Has Michigan ever had a number 0?

An All-America halfback-fullback out of Cal and 1953 first-round pick, Olszewski played nine seasons in the NFL (for the Chicago Cardinals, Detroit and Washington) and one AFL season (Denver). He rushed for 3,320 yards and 16 touchdowns.

EDIT:  Over/Under on time from 7pm EST for WD to definitively answer whether or not and who and when the numbers 00 or 0 were issued to a Michigan football player. That Superguide of his . . .
