Joel Klatt Seems Confident Harbaugh Stays

Joel Klatt on Denver Sport Radio this morning, starts at 8:15.  Some interesting perspective on Harbaugh with Klatt believing that Harbaugh is likely to stay at Michigan.

Would you have an issue if Warde Manuel approached Harbaugh and said.. “We think you should be the highest paid coach in college football, and this contract reflects that.”

In the absence of a long term contract with a large buyout, I don’t see how this doesn’t have a major impact on 2024 and beyond recruiting. That’s the only way they can salvage this at this point is to talk about how they were negotiating this new contract and how NFL teams were calling him but he ultimately wasn’t interested. Nobody is going to believe this won’t be an annual thing at this point. Look at Jadyn Davis, he’s a 2024 kid, he can’t even be sure Michigan won’t have another great year and Harbaugh bolts before he even steps on campus.

Holy shit guys, I just realized that Harbaugh has been using the DENNIS System on us this whole time.

  • D - Demonstrate Value
    • Famous alumni QB.
    • Winning coach at Stanford, 49ers, etc.
  • E - Engage Physically
    • Became head coach of program.
  • N - Nurture Dependence
    • Near-immediate awesome results in 2015 and 2016.
    • Results made fans believe the program was back.
  • N - Neglect Emotionally
    • Beatdown by OSU in 2018.
    • Disappointing 2019 season with another OSU beatdown.
    • 2020 dumpster fire season.
  • I - Inspire Hope
    • Revamping staff after poor-performance.
    • Win 25 games in 2 years and make 2 playoff runs.
    • Defeat OSU in back-to-back seasons.
    • Come within a few bad breaks of a national championship appearance.
  • S - Separate Entirely
    • TBD

I'm more concerned with who Harbaugh takes with him IF he goes. Minter, Hart, Moore, Harbaugh's kid...

this could turn into a shitshow in a big fat hurry.
