Joe Bolden's Flow

Submitted by Thorin on

The Under Armour game and highlights are up at mgovideo, but let's face it, there was only one highlight for Michigan fans.

Keep in mind that this was the state of Jake Ryan's almost negative flow coming out of high school.

Projecting high school kids to the next level is an inexact science, but with Mattison coaching him up and Ryan there to mentor him, Bolden looks like a high flow ceiling kid.

When I saw Joe Bolden's hair, it immediately reminded me of Jake Ryan as well.  If he can play as well as Jake did as a (rs) freshmen, we're in for a treat.

army all-american game today at 1?  will you do the same thing get highlights and the game?   5 michigan commitments could be 6 playing today.

Quick question - how do you pronounce "smileeeeeee" ?  In my head I want to say "smiiiiiiiile" but that doesn't seem to be what you're going for or perhaps "smillllllllle" but that then creates a short "i" sound and I get confused.  Is this a different way of typing "..." ?  I just don't know what it means to extend multiple silent "e"s...  Maybe I just need more coffee.

Fucking Billy. Means well, but always getting them into trouble. But he means well, and now he's coaching the Panthers. And Tim is NOT going to leave U of M during welcome week, drive all the way back to Dillon, TX in his trusty old pickup whilst throwing his college textbooks out the window. Don't do it, Riggs.

Also, if Bolden/Riggs goes to jail for something Coach Hoke/Taylor knows, deep in his heart, he didn't do, but took the rap for because he's such a good kid....I hope Coach Hoke/Taylor responds to Bolden/Riggs' letters. (That scene...was awesome).

I worried based on the thread title that this was going to somehow involve an awkward attempt by Joseph to rap. So glad I was proven m wrong, now I don't have to jump off that bridge...

Watch for the team theme to shift from dreads to flow as we shift players recruited by the different coaching staffs. There are a few players and commited recruits who have the potential for some flow.

the flowing locks dangling out of their helmets would create drag thus hindering their speed.

On the other hand, maybe their strength lies within their long hair. Both players have improved as their hair has gotten longer.

Thanks for the video.  We all really appreciate the work.

Watching the Bolden-only highlights, it seems like he really needs to work on wrapping up and making form tackles.  Most of the plays he was in on involved him grabbing at a runner with his arms fully extended.  While he could usually turn the guy or slow him down, there weren't many clean takedowns.

He's an early enrollee, so I'm sure the defensive staff will work with him on that well before he sees game action, but I will be interested in comparing his performance to James Ross today at the Army All-American Bowl.  I get the impression that Ross is the most college-ready of the linebackers Michigan is bringing in.

It's uncanny;
Remove all the flowing locs, athletic ability, & determination to succeed,
add 30 yrs, 100 lbs, and a worn-dowm cynical view of the world,
and Joe Bolden & I could be twins!

A pink headband (or polo shirt with popped collar) has always been the mark of a true man's man.  It tells the world, "Sure, I could dress in a more blatantly heterosexual manner, but I'm so tough I don't have to."

For reference, see such historical badasses as Zack Morris, the rich kids from The Outsiders, and Richard Simmons.
