Jim and John Harbaugh coaching tree is sprouting
MacDonald to be the youngest NFL coach. Seahawks are getting a good one.
A youth movement in Seattle: Seahawks are expected to hire Ravens’ defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their new head coach, league sources tell ESPN. They’re still finalizing the deal, but Seattle has its man.

I think the only way we keep the scheme is if we co-DC Clink and Elston. If either one of those guys leave, it seems way harder to keep this going. Wade fired the LB coach. Elston is DL. Clink is DBs. And *supposedly* Clink doesn't want to call plays. So he's already Co-DC and is happy with the role he has there. That means we have to hope Elston wants to call plays and is good at it.
If we can get through the next 1-2 years with those guys, the candidate pool will grow with at least three NFL teams running the amoeba. We just need to bridge the gap somehow.

I think I remember some scuttle that Elston left ND because he was passed over for play calling duties on D. Could repeat itself, obviously.

I wonder if the Ravens or Seahawks might make a play for the USC defensive coordinator. Who is probably too tough a pull for us but may be tempted by an NFL offer.

This has the feel of being a cradle of the coach's situation. We may look back and see how this Michigan coaching staff had multiple elite head coaches. The program should be this way. Very similar to the Bo years.

Happy for him, and this is awesome for the Harbaugh dynasty. But I concur with those who suspect that this development lowers the likelihood that we can land Orr.

Oh. I'm reading these in original order. What I wrote on a later post:
I suppose this means he's not returning to be Michigan's DC.

You mean the Jack Harbaugh coaching tree?
