The Jeremy Gallon - ND Thread

Submitted by Blazefire on

Why the heck isn't there a Gallon thread already?! Seriously, guys! We don't win this game without His Cloakedness, Lord Gallon.

8 catches for 184 yards! That is 6th on the all time record list, and number one is Roundtree's 2010 3OT Illinois Off-FEST, that that one doesn't count. He was 5 yards shy, FIVE yards shy of Bralonfest, in REGULATION!

Not to mention I'm pretty sure he's now an "Arrest On Sight" target in South Bend, something akin to Rambo. He's given us more highlights and holy crap moments against ND than any one player, heck, and 5 players, has the right to.

In conclusion, I give you this:

It's amazing how far Gallon has come in 4 years. His freshman year he was a fumble machine and now he has cemented his status as a Michigan legend. Same goes for Gibbons who went from Shankasaurus Rex to setting the M record for consecutive FG's made. I cannot think of any other players who went from such liabilities to incredible players over the span of their respective careers. Stevie Brown improved from year 1 to year 4 but not to this level.

Has anyone seen any recruit reactions to tonight's game? I've been on twitter and a few of the recruiting sites and seen nothing yet. Is it too much to ask for a Hello post to add to the good time feelings tonight?

Is Gallon a lock for Big Ten Offensive player of the week? There were a couple other quarterbacks (Gardner included) who put up some big numbers, but not against this level of competition.

I agree that he has torched ND and given us "holy crap" moments against them, but one player who I'd argue gave more was number 16 from the past few years. Both good and bad "holy crap" moments, but lots of them.

Watching the game last night - I am just reminded about how far both Jeremy Gallon and Brendan Gibbons have come since their though freshman years.  Gallon seemed to fumble every kick that went his way and Gibbons couldn't hit the side of a barn if he was 2 yards away.  Having seen them both develop into amazing elements of this team is great.  When you figure that type of growth with time - just makes you excited about this young team under such great coaches.

Not a lot of separation but DG found openings when he needed them and the blocking was really good. Coach Heck has done a nice job with the talent he has...I can't wait to see what he can do with Harris, Ways and Campbell, similar to watching Coach Beilein win with Douglass and Novak and then kill it when more talent showed up last year. The future is bright.

but I'm about to be a Debby Downer.  We have got to find a way to spread the ball around better...because sooner or later some team is going to figure out how to lock Gallon down.  Funchess/Dileo/Chesson need to be more involved down the road... besides just blocking for Gallon downfield.

Though I was worried coming in to this game about Gallon getting locked down and he still rampaged. Fortunately, DG has been looking to Dileo and Funchess a decent bit so if Gallon starts getting blanketed, we've shown we're at least capable of spreading the ball around a bit

I want to see more balls thrown Dileo's way. He just catches everything and finds little ways to get open
