Jabrill Peppers: an odd situation

Submitted by sharks on February 28th, 2019 at 7:38 PM

Very strange situation unfolding in Cleveland, where Peppers recently finished up his second season as a Brown.  Per cleveland.com, his truck was broken into recently, and among the things stolen were rumored to be an unlicensed Glock and an amount of weed.

Apparently, the alleged perp was later found murdered, and the suspect (now in custody) has no connection the former Wolverine.  A relatively well-known Cleveland defense attorney was then recorded confirming that police disposed of the weed and asked that the whole situation be kept from the media.

As a Clevelander with many civil service workers in his family tree, I can attest to the fact that members of local pro sports teams often get protected from situations where normal folk might spend a night in jail. (Unable to get the link posted on my mobile, sry).

I saw that as well, and if I am not mistaken, the originator of the rumor has since removed his Twitter account from existence.

It simply adds to the evidence that OSU fans seem to be some of the most irrational in existence, and not in that amusing MSU way where you simply counter with "You worry about you, please."

Well, the guy who killed her was high on drugs and did it with his hands, so not really a professional hit.  Sad story really--Cleveland sounds like a terrible place.

So an OSU fan called the Browns attorney and posed as Jabrill's uncle? And the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting on this? Holy hell Jabrill, you need to get out of that place ASAP. Request a trade, hold out, do whatever you can--if you don't have support weird things can happen to you man.  He has hundreds of thousands-millions of people in that state that just want to sink him.  Get out of there dude.

The guy who recorded the call (@imcarceratedbob*) doesn't appear to have any connection to OSU.  I speak for myself only, but possibly some other OSU/Browns fans, when I say that Peppers is growing on me- he's improving, amd is a max effort kind of guy.

*Jesus H., that's a heck of a handle

Someone post the Bill Burr bit where he talks about white people needing black friends to tell white people about lotion and sunscreen, and black people needing white friends to help register their guns.

This is absurd.

Jabrill isn’t going to report an unlicensed gun and weed stolen! That’s the only way police would know about it as the only witness to what was in the vehicle is dead.

Well, you don't need a license to have a handgun in your truck, so imI'not entirely sure what that means. And a person that is going to break into a vehicle to steal shit in Cleveland will have a higher chance of being murdered, for sure.

I’m bummed to read this. Just being associated or unassociated with this type of stuff is not good. I loved Jabrill when he was at M and we still affectionately call one of our grandkids Jabrill. I hope he’s not into anything bad. Too much going for him.

Jabrill's Attorney, Shaggy when asked Jabrill's stance replied " It wasn't me"

But, the Glock was in the bag....  " It wasn't mine"

and the weed?  " Wasn't me"

Must have been the guys who broke into his trucks personal possessions.

I'm not sure what "unregistered" glock means, as I do not believe there is any gun registry in Ohio. I think state law forbids establishment of a registry.

You cannot transport a firearm in Ohio that is loaded without a CCP.  Without a CCP any FA must be unloaded and properly stowed away from the ammo.

If Peppers had it in the car he could be in trouble but fortunately for him, the Cleveland police are corrupt and covered for him.

Not surprising at all. Peppers is talented, but an insider I talked to in Ohio sees some problems with him, and thinks he is at risk of flaming out. I hope things go well for him, but this just doesn't bode well. C'est la vie.

LOL "an insider I talked to in Ohio sees problems with him and thinks he is at risk of flaming out"

An insider wouldn't have any more information about Jabrills potential to "Flame out" than any ole regular Browns fan who watches their games

Jabrill showed he was one of the best Safeties in their division and improved a great deal. He has shown the complete opposite of a player that is "flaming out". As we saw at Michigan it takes him a minute to get things down but once he does he flames ON

Lastly all Browns insiders, reporters, and fans comments on Jabrill have to be taken with a grain of salt as many still have an irrational hate for him because he came from Michigan

I think we shouldn't really discuss this slanderous bullshit further. As of now there is no evidence.

Some vile OSU fan who hates Jabrill for coming from UM could've easily made up all of this unverifiable shit

So wait, when all the Urban Meyer stuff was going on this summer did you tell everybody on this board to wait for the evidence to come out? Nah I doubt it. But now when it is a former UM player the first thing you say is an OSU fan made it all up. Interesting!
