Will finish this way:
1. Lamar
2. Deshawn
3. Jabrill
4. Dede

Jabrill might be 4th as it seems that a lot of the voting members (media) seem to project their dislike for Harbaugh onto anything Michigan related...including the players.

All three of Michigan's Heisman winners were recruited by one coach, and then won the Heisman playing for the next coach.

Tom Harmon was recruited by Harry Kipke, won it playing for Fritz Crisler.

Desmond Howard was recruited by Bo, won it playing for Gary Moeller.

Charles Woodson was recruited by Moeller, won it playing for Lloyd Carr.

Jabrill Peppers was recuited by Brady Hoke ...

I'm surprised that Jabrill got the invite - it's a real feather in his cap, and Harbaugh tooting his horn probably helped - but to be honest that kid Adoree Jackson from USC should have gotten the invite. He's quite a phenom, and has the stats to back it up.

Enjoy yourself, man, but work the next game hard if for no other reason than to boost your draft position. This said, next year you could WIN the Heisman and possibly improve your comp package. I had to say it, also, a shout out to Jabrill's mom. Good luck!

two-platoon football--everybody played both ways. That meant deciding on "the most outstanding player" was a legitimate goal. Since two-platoon football became common, the award devolved into one given to the offensive player with the most impressive stats, or to a QB on a highly ranked team. It automatically excluded half the players on the field: the defense.

Desmond Howard is one of the most deserving winners since two-platoon footall came about. Going by the original nature of the award, Woodson is the only legit winner in at least six decades, and Peppers is the only legit candidate today.

If you take out the Rutgers game where everyone and their grandmother was scoring and racking up stats... the rest of the season Jabrill had 24 rushes for 93 yards, which comes out to about ~3.8 ypc.

The most elite defensive stats that Peppers has are his TFLs, but 63% of those were earned in the first 3 games during the OOC schedule. Once teams started to account for Peppers as a pass-rusher, he was relatively quiet with 5.5 TFLs in the last 9 games.

If the fanbase takes their "collective" Michigan glasses off, they'd see a bit of an overhyped player. Had Peppers continued to play under Hoke, or simply if Harbaugh hadn't experienced this type of immediate success, the Michigan faithful might regard him in the same category as Derrick Green: a "bust."

Is absurd.

If you watched a Michigan game thus year you realize that he alone alters offensive, defensive AND special teams schemes. He also produces results and is an impact player. I played and coached a little, and some guys just hit differently than others and make everyone around them better. That is this guy. He is that good and he can even get better (on coverage, offense). J Lewis is a more skilled cover guy, but is individually way more effective bc of Peppers and, alone, he would not have near the inverse impact on opposing teams as Pepp does. Yet, he is likely an All American too.

Teams didn't score on us for like 9 quarters this year bc thus kid took or good defense and made it a great one.

As yourself, if you were an NFL team, which of these nominees would you take before him? I'd take Allen from Alabama and the WU Qb. That's it.

Don't let the "spotted words" fool you....I used Derrick Green as an analogy....based on similar recruiting hype and expectations. specifically, I was referring to the label we might be inclined to attach to pepper's name had we not had the overall team success under harbaugh, ala the critical microscope we took to hoke's regime. I'd encourage you to genuinely try to read my entire post, resisting the temptation to take specific words out of context.

If Peppers wins or decides to come back that would end all my disappointment as far as not making the playoffs this year. I'm not very optimistic that either of these will happen, but either would be an extremely pleasant surprise.

or where he'll place.  All I know is I'm going to miss him next year.  He was special.  He was a ton of fun on that field and you could see that he loved every minute of being here these last 2 years especially.

One more game in a Michigan uniform Jabrill!  Go out with your best show yet!  :)
