“It got shoved”
One of the Spartys favorite moments was when Dantonio referenced the stake in 2014 by saying it got shoved when he put up a late TD in that game.
The 39 yard TD pass was the moment where we shoved it right back. And this time we don’t need to call and apologize. The antics of the field walk, and wearing the helmets off the bus, cheap gimmicks that don’t work. Just like the stake didn’t work. Feels good to have the shoe on the other foot. So Mork, shove off into retirement now.

I'm glad TK is enjoying the win. But if this is the reaction after beating MSU, the servers are actually going to catch fire when we beat OSU.

I don't want him to leave. I want Harbaugh to keep beating him. I want Harbaugh to be our version of Tressel to Carr.

He's leaving. There's nothing about watching that guy on the sideline that says he's ready for a ground-up rebuild.
Everything points to him leaving.
- Not shuffling the staff - he didn't because he knew this was his last year
- Lots of seniors on this team - wanted to go out with them, win a B1G title
- Recruiting in the toilet - my guess is negative recruiting started a while back, people have been saying Dantonio's leaving. If recruits or parents bring it up, Dantonio probably says something like "I live in the moment", because he doesn't want to lie. Recruit/Parents read between those lines, go somewhere else, and pass the word along
- He looks exhausted to me; the term shell of his former self applies
- He didn't win a single "surprise" game. Even last year he beat PSU on the road. He had opportunities against Wisconsin, OSU, PSU, and Michigan, and got clubbed in every single one of them. Indiana was the game he pulled out that he shouldn't have. Go back in time 5 years and say that, MSU fans would melt.
- He's got that contract with a bonus kicker in January. That feels like it was set up for a thank you payout in his last year.
- They're letting him twist a bit with that Blackwell case, for some reason. It was put off until after the season partly because anything bad coming from it will include a "the coach involved in this case is gone" proviso.
- He's going on 64.

All of your post makes sense except for the "because he doesn't want to lie." This is the same coach who flat out denied being 3 yards behind their field walk through our players last year. If he's willing to lie about something so simple with video footage, what won't he lie about?

I agree. He needs to take some more lashings. Brian said it perfectly on the pod. It would have been great if Harbaugh goaded his ego into staying.

I think we might have seen the last time Dantonio defeats us as a Spartan a couple years ago, seeing his house of cards collapse so thoroughly.

The funny thing about all of Dantonio's schtick, is when they were winning games, it was all so cool to their fans. If they won Saturday, getting off the buses would have been lauded as 'look how ready our team was!!!'. With every schtick however, when the tables turn, it flips the schtick completely the other way. I am glad Coach Harbaugh doesn't play that game. The best part of that is that he doesn't NEED to play that game.
