whoa man...whoa.  Didn't even know kids your age used "paper" - thought it was all fancy schmancy wired stuff - the cloud man, the cloud!... and that fancy "10101001010" electron stuff.  Old school man...old school. Nice.

that the obverse to your observation is that your own team has to be giving up a boat load of scores for your Kick Returner to rack up a boat load of returns.

I'd much rather see our KO returner get one return for 30 yards per game than the gaudy numbers you're talking about.  The Punt Returner, on the other hand, is a horse of a different colour.

Breaston's records- he'll have earned it.  He has been an exciting return man and hopefully will finally reach pay-dirt on one this season.

However, what would Norfleet setting the record for number of KOR already as a junior mean?  Did DN field a larger percentage of kick-offs than SB because the other return man caught more on Breaston's teams?  I remember SB being injured from time- could this be why?  And, the least desireable reason- have we been giving up so many scores that Norfleet can reach these marks already?

Not sure if we can really know this answer for sure......(I need to get back to drinking)

Anyway, here's hoping Norfleet smashes the records-  by fielding only the 2nd half kick-off every game!

Can someone remind me? Did we have a punt returned for a touchdown last year? The only punts returned for a touchdown I can remember are Martavious Odoms in 2008...and before that when Lloyd was coaching. God I miss watching Steve Breaston. Make it happen Jabrill.

Every punt return for a TD since the official records began in 1949.

Edit: no idea why this table looks like this. I actually had to trim the result column out. I copied this straight from my statistical record book.

This isn't right, or at least not in terms of actual punt return TDs. A number of these are punt block return TDs, at very least Reynolds' last year (off Dymonte's block), BG's in 2009, Marquise Walker's in 2000 and Roy Manning's in 2001. Marlin Jackson's may have been, too...

Yes. The Roy Manning 0yd PR was a block by Zach Kaufman and Manning recovery.

That was the Marquise Walker one-handed catch game at Iowa. Michigan was down 10-0 until that punt block TD. Something about Kinnick Stadium and special teams from that time period.

1998, they hilariously blew any chance at winning by their PR man running into his own endzone and being tackled for a safety that gave Michigan a 12-9 lead (and win).

2003......ugh....I still remember that game and I was pretty young at the time. Effing special teams that year cost us two games.

I think it's funny that people continue to freak out over Hoke's hypothetical "if the game was today" starters. The game isn't today. Last week Smith was #1 RB, Peppers/Lewis were starting corners and Godin was a starter. This week none of that is true. Green is back to #1, Countess/Taylor are your starting corners and Willie Henry is a starter again. Anybody else starting to notice a pattern? Just relax.
