Isn't It Time?

Submitted by UM Indy on

Folks, isn't it just TIME for another iconic Michigan moment in The Game?  It's been a long time since Howard, Biakabutuka and Woodson.  Since then, it's been painful moments and memories - Gonzalez getting loose, Crable hit, failed 2 point conversion - and generally getting our asses kicked.  A punt return for a TD for Peppers would fit the script and follow precedent most perfectly.  But I'd be happy with other possibilities as well.  A key TD catch for Chesson?  A big interception for Lewis?

I'm so jacked up I can't sleep.  I'm surfing a constant triangle between this site, MLive and the Detroit News for any new tidbit of information.  When I read about Jimmy joining the Grave Walk last night, I was ready to run through a wall.

Happy Thanksgiving, GO BLUE, see you Saturday!

but in keeping with the feel of this current season, I'm hoping for 2 things offensively:

1. A fullback touchdown from the 2-yard line where Houma powers through the middle of OSUs vaunted D-line.

2. A double move by Chesson to break him open for a take-the-top off-the-Defense 30+ yd touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball I want to see:

1. A timely Jourdan Lewis pick.

2. Zeke Elliott held to less than 100 yards on the ground and no TDs.

Lewis Breaks up a pass on the sideline flipping it back in bounds to Pepper's who scampers into the endzone. Save the Punt return for Pepper's Heisman run next year.

17-17. 4th quarter. Barrett throws deep down the sideline, it's intercepted by Lewis at the 3 he stays in bounds, laterals to Peppers at the 15, he spins, breaks a tackle and is into the clear, he's at the 40, the 30, the 20-15-10-5-TOUCHDOWN!!! Michigan!!! We win 23-17!!!

We are way overdue to get some, so INT for a pick-6 or, my mercy, an actual fumble recovery for a TD. Mo Hurst runs one in. Their place kicking is not the best, so how about a return for a TD by Chesson.

Honestly it's getting real old how all our Michigan highlight reels on promos for The Game pre date 2000. It's time for a signature win with a signature moment

To be fair, it's because those were pretty extraordinary plays made my players that everyone still knows. Heisman trophy winners and such. They could easily show highlights from 2003 of Braylon or Chris Perry. Both those guys tore OSU up in that game. What about Denard down the sideline in 2011? Those were great as well, but it's hard to displace things like Hello Heisman and Woodson taking it to the house to help secure the NC.
