For sure this team knows Harbaugh is a lame duck.  No fire and no development.  No contract extension at his choice.

Jim needs to make his NFL deal  with the Jets and turn the team over to interim coach Gattis.  Like before it craters our recruiting.

Positively Hokian performance. Last two weeks felt like watching Michigan play Utah and Minnesota in Hoke’s last year.

Im actually on board with major changes needed. I don’t think Harbaugh is the answer anymore.

And for the record, it’s not because they lost. It’s because they looked awful...undisciplined, slow, mental mistakes, poor execution, too many penalties...just total failure, and that’s coaching.

Made doubly worse by how MSU looked today, confirming they had no damn business losing to them last week.

honestly can they even beat Rutgers at this point? I’m not sure they can. They looked awful on defense and offense for most of the game.

congrats to IU tho. This day was a long time coming for them, and they earned it. I’ll be rooting for them to keep winning this year.

I still think Harbaugh can coach (I'm not suggesting he keeps his job).  Brown is so bad right now.  I see a glimmer of what Gattis is trying to do and that side of the ball is young.  Harbaugh needs or needed better recruiters pure and simple. We have reached on too many projects even though we have hit on some. We were great when we had Hoke's guys on the D-line. Sadly, I miss him at this moment.  He would be a great defensive line coach.  That area of the ball has just been eroded with subpar recruiting.  Same with DB.  No more studs and now we are paying the price.  We need a young D coordinator that can really recruit if we don't blow this whole thing up.

The lack of depth, talent and coaching on the D line and corners is so blindingly obvious that it is painful to watch.  We cannot do anything right on defense.  We can't play press man.  We can't play zone.  We can't so much as sniff the QB without sending blitzers, even then the blitz doesn't get through most of the time which leaves are already suspect corners on islands and 1 to 3 steps behind their WRs nearly ever time.  And IF our corner is close to the receiver they grab/hold/impede and get penalized.  And they do this shit at the dumbest times when they don't need to, i.e. on overthrows.  So we are also making really bad split second decisions.  I cringe on QB drop backs and pray that the WR drops the ball or it's a poor throw.

This defense is literally awful.  This no way to go through life, son.

I have never feared an OSU game as much as the one that is coming this season.  It is going to be ugly.

JH do the program a favor and resign now so we can get this thing started and get our pick of the this years litter...Time to move on

Hmm, Pete Finbaum now looks like he was being kind.

I'm indifferent. I have ZERO confidence ANY coach Michigan hires will make a difference. Whatever ails us, we have now had three different HCs turn in historically worst in their careers performances for us. No reason to expect a different person in the hot seat will matter.

Point a gun to my head, let Harbaugh go after the annual OSU defenestration. A new guy won't have to deal with all the expectations (either good, or the dead man walking, negative recruiting kind). I fully expect another RichRod or Hoke type regime to follow.

I only watched the first half because I could tell the team was unprepared and there was no hope of turning things around in the second half - last week showed the staff can’t make meaningful in-game adjustments.

How can you jump offsides so many times in one half? Totally undisciplined and unfocused team and that goes back to coaching. I’m ready for a completely new staff. There isn’t one coach on this staff I’d worry about losing.

This isn’t the JH that was hired and quite frankly, this JH sucks ass. I held out hope that crazy JH would return and I don’t have it anymore. Make the change. No fucking insiders and if anyone mentions Bo or an old ass speech, kick them out of the interview immediately. This program needs new blood really bad. Just because it didn’t work once, doesn’t mean you don’t try again.

I'm sick of fucking horse shit officiating crews jobbing us like last week against MSU. I'm sick of fucking recruiting kids who take school and their professional careers too seriously to devote every second of their lives to football like Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State. We routinely play by the rules and try to keep this pristine image, and yet liars and cheats win and nobody cares how they won. I'm sick of it all. Round bin the coaching staff. Stop making excuses and bring in people who will win at any cost like all of the other major programs do.

What else needs to be said.We were very lucky to sneak out a win against what appears to be a very bad Minnesota team, We got beat at home by a rival who now has been waxed by Rutgers and a team that had previously not won a game. We got manhandled by a team we have not lost to in over 30 years, and  at this juncture would care to predict a win against anybody on the existing schedule. This staff has failed miserably and owns this crap.

I’m finally coming around to accepting that Harbaugh has to go. I just hate transitioning coaches. But if the play is this bad, a transition won’t be any worse. I hate losing mass defections of kids I’ve become a fan of but it seems as though it’s the right move. Couldn’t be much worse.

Here’s all you need to know. Down 17, with under 7 minutes to go, our offense took 25, 24, & 25 seconds to run three plays. That is 100% on the coaching.

It’s a mystery to me that Harbaugh hasn’t performed better at Michigan. He certainly had the track record. He has been given every opportunity to succeed. It doesn’t make sense.

One wish for our MGoBoard: don’t engage in revisionist history. By any objective criteria, Harbaugh was highly successful prior to coming to Michigan. He was far and away the hottest football coach hire when we got him. He was a home run hire. He immediately elevated Michigan football’s national profile. He has had some success at Michigan.

What realistically should happen now? Nobody on the coaching staff will be fired in the middle of the season. I also don’t think Michigan will fire Harbaugh at the end of this strange, shortened season. He has one year left on his contract after this year. He will be allowed to coach next year. Unless he has a spectacular season, meaning 11+ wins and beating both MSU and OSU, there will be a change.

What is more likely to happen will be that Harbaugh will gracefully bow out after this season, citing unspecified personal reasons. Michigan will gracefully accept his resignation and begin a coaching search.

We were hoping for a fiery tough nosed reincarnation of Bo Schembechler type of coach, and instead got Harbaughs dad. Time to move on and find a coach with some passion and creativity. This is clearly not working and its getting worse.

Unfortunately I have to now agree.  Is it Don Browns fault?  I am not sure.  Is it the head coaches fault?  I truly now believe it is, yes.  This team has lacked FIRE for a long time. I think Don has fire but the coach lacks it.  He just doesn't seem to be the same coach he was from a perspective of instilling competitiveness and making players play beyond their level.  The team just seems to be "blah".  I don't see many players (minus #42 and a couple others) that go out there with a fire to beat someone, run them over, will to win.  It just isn't there.

I wouldn't even want to play Liberty or Memphis right now as I feel we would lose.

The defense for sure has it's secondary issues but this offense should be doing a whole lot better.  We should be doing a whole lot better as a team by now.  Unless something great happens this is going to be a rough season in an already complete liquid crap of an already terrible 2020 year.

You can see talent on the field but it's like .... they don't "want" it.

It starts at the top and although I like and respect JH he just doesn't have that fire to him.  I just wish he would get pissed off and get wild and get on these kids to get out there and perform and reach deep and go after it!  No fire and no passion from the players or head coach = bad outcomes.  I think it actually is time for a change. He has had enough time to bring this team up and although it has done well from a win / loss perspective it's just .... "blah".   I agree with many, I don't care about being National Champions but I do care about beating our rivals like MSU and OSU and teams we SHOULD beat.  I don't mind a hiccup here and there but man ...... We need to get back to that and we need a coach that breaths fire / fear of losing their starting role etc.

Sometimes you just have to admit it -- whatever IT is -- isn't working. It's not working. We shouldn't always be depleted because someone graduated. We shouldn't see huge steps backwards like we're seeing. A program the size of Michigan should be well-stocked and solid every year. How many times do we have to have these conversations?

I’ve got one thing to say. Fire everyone of those mother fuckers. Starting with the biggest pile of shit in Jim mother fucking Harbaugh.

It’s time for a graceful exit. It is what it is...weird covid year and this year doesn’t matter much but it’s time to move forward. Harbaugh is an important part of UM history and he can bow out gracefully after the season.

I have followed UM year round for 37 years and have had several family play there and ones who are still involved. I love it. I love what the my represent. But this program is broken. Excuses have been gone for a while. Not trying to be negative but this is a broken program. Zero fight. Hard to be this invested bc the losses are awful.

Not good, Bob.  Just didn’t show passion and execution from early in Q1 - shocking after the heat and criticism from the prior week.
Even worse with Iowa exposing the weak team from EL.

The vast majority of the UM base supported Harbaugh from day 1 and showed patience for ~6 years, so it is massively disappointing to hit the proverbial fork in the road for his tenure.

Every week it grows clearer that Harbaugh doesn't know what is wrong and has no idea how to fix it.  Looking back on his coaching career he never built a program.  Rather he took someone else's program and made it work for a little while before leaving or being shown the door.

He's done because it will get no better.  Don Brown should have been relieved at halftime.  Partridge should still be here.  The list of mistakes is long and the results show up on Saturdays.

I hope the next coach is someone that comes from a successful program and has built their own.  I am almost loathe to say it but Fickel has built something good at Cincinnati.  There are others out there but that is the 1st that comes to mind and he has much less baggage than the other one that gets mentioned.

Has anyone here ever pooped in an eastern european country that uses the toilet "shelf?"  It's a ledge built into the toilet porcelain that was used in olden times to check yourself for worms.  Looking at a hot steamer sitting 5" above the water is more pleasurable than watching our secondary.

We both obviously enjoy the foibles of each other, but I honestly have no idea why jimmy is still the HC?  At least, they should have told him he needed a new DC.  Also, why keep running up the middle with no success??

IU showed heart today....UM showed their soft underbelly.....
