I see 7 WR listed on the roster. One may not be back because of legal issues, and one looks pretty likely to transfer. That puts Michigan at 5. I think 7 is the minimum you want and you can go up to 9 or 10. One will probably get moved to defense, and there's a small likely hood a third player may transfer.

This is a great pick up. Really got along well with the other Michigan commits this summer, is reported to run great routes, have great hands, and has a 40+ inch vertical! Yes, please!

Man I was busy and late on this one. That jump into the pool is classic. Awesome player to get! Go Blue!

I have a creaky memory but Oliver reminds me of Brian Brennan of Brother Rice and Boston College acclaim. Certainly not the height but the demeanor and grit. You young folks may have no idea who Brennan is.

He's got his hands out to catch himself but yikes.. Pretty athletic kid just from that dive, he turns around and dives the coaches probably thought he was just jumping in like them.

Listened to Sam's replay of his original analysis of the kid after watching him. If Sam's scouting report is close to accurate, it's a huge pickup. Sounds like a great complimentary receiver and the type of guy that makes a QBs job much easier. Slot guy that runs precise routes, has enough shake to get open or get yards after the catch and catches everything. These types of guys become a QBs emergency check down and help confidence by creating opportunities for easy completions. Michigan could've used a guy like this to get Speight some confidence in games where his downfield stuff wasn't accurate. It's like in basketball when making a few free throws helps your rhythm to them make 3s. Completing these short passes that turn into decent gains helps confidence and rhythm to start completing long stuff. Really good pickup for Speight and the young QBs.

So the national CFB press keeps calling Oliver the 'next Wes Walker' and 'next Jordy Nelson' ..... Sure seems like Wally Szerbiak being the 'next Dan Majerle' ...just because he's white, doesn't mean Martin is like other white receivers. Gym Rat! Head for the Game! Smart Player! smh

I dont follow recruiting much anymore...verbals mean NOTHING these days so until their signature is on a dotted line I glance at recruiting threads...For u recruiting freaks out there (I know there are plenty) on a scale of 1-10 whats your view of how big a get this is?
