Hello: David Reese
Excellent!

I think he'd make one HELL of a FB at Michigan.
That's where I've thought he fit best...not that my opinion matters, but the Best Guess List is still alive.
Time to go get Falcon to get 1 of 2 RB spots, Corley and Fitzpatrick to fill out the 2 WR spots, Jordan for 1 of the 2 OT spots, Onwenu for 1 of the 1 or 2* DT spots and Kareem for 1 of the 2 or 3* DE spots.
*I have us getting 1 true DT (Onwenu), 2 true DEs (Kareem and 1 other - Connor Murphy) and 1 DT/DE player.
It does matter because if he wants to be a fullback or linebacker in college then that affects how the staff will recruit players moving forward. If they want to change later on in their careers, its assumed that Harbaugh will let them try out for that position, but from a numbers standpoint, it definitely makes a difference.
Commitapalooza. Never forget
Always and forever.
FB or LB. Either one works for me.
Recruits come in pairs!
Most crystal ballz had him defecting to UM even before this.
I think Ace is going to be busy, Busy, BUSY today! MOAR!!!
I don't think he has the same upside, because I don't think he's quite the athlete that Bolden is or has the same size, but he plays the game very similarly. He'll have to improve his ability to read plays, but, like Bolden, when he does get a beat on a play he is very downhill and attacks.
I think Reese is more of a true MIKE type because he probably lacks the every down sideline to sideline speed required to play on the outside. But this is a guy with good burst that needs to continue working to understand the game and can be a very stout player in the middle of Michigan's defense. I was honestly more surprised at the upside I saw on his film compared to what I expected.
Though apparently he was recruited as more of a FB, which makes sense. I don't know much about him in terms of hands and such, but a guy with his burst, now not having to read and react, can be a very good FB for Michigan. The way he plays football combined with his ability to get up to speed make it so he's a guy that can make all the blocks asked of a FB and get into the second level before LBs can get downhill.
Looks like he will start at FB however. But with Harbaugh and our potential needs at LB in 16/17 he might be someone they look at both sides. Depends on who else they land at LB in 16 I'd think.

Here's what coaches see in their initial evaluation of Reese's game.
Reese is an explosive and physical inside linebacker that loves contact. He invites contact every play. Reese's strongpoints are diagnosing plays and getting the ball carrier quickly. He reads action extremely well and has an instinctive first step. He doesn't second guess himself. Reese is decisive and closes on the ball carrier with tenacity and takes a bee-line for the ball. Quick enough to get by blockers and puts himself in great position to make a tackle. He really fires through ball carriers when he makes a hit.
Reese doesn't have the biggest frame at around 6-foot, and 230-pounds but he packs a punch. He's got the tenacity you like inside the box and wins in tight spaces. His timing when he shoots the gap is outstanding on run plays and when he's blitzing. He makes a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Reese doesn't have great agility but he takes great angles in the open field to make a tackle and he's got good straight line speed. Reese tackles low and wins the leverage battle because he's built low to the ground with good strength overall. Reese has strong and active hands and his leverage and lower body strength frees him from blocks. Highly aggressive player you want on the inside. Solid in coverage but not great.

In short, a LB of average size who's aggressive, decisive, likes to hit, and hits hard.
First thing I thought when I read this: whichever position he plays, he sounds like a player that Bo would have liked.
Welcome, Mr. Reese.
Great to see. Feels like this will be a busy weekend for commits.
That must mean fitzpatrick is coming soon
planning to stay in town until Wednesday?

I thought it was going to be another small class like last year's.
