Hello Darkness (Highlight Video)

Submitted by Hammer of Thor on

I spent my morning putting this together. Believe it or not, Mark D'Antonio is "starring" in this short. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did editing it.  Select the HD option as the source video was 720p. (Not sure if this is going to embedd correctly. If not, I'll post in 1st comment.)

Loved the whole beautiful thing.  See I underestimated the # of missed holding calls in the second half.   You showed 10 and did not even include the one where Taco was tackled on a long 3rd down conversion.   Well done !!

I'd also remove the quote from the other player (that leads into the clips where they are on the ground).  Instead, include the Dantonio quote (as a visual) about going for 2 to send a "mental message" prior to showing the 2 point play.  Might also want to include the audio from the game where the announcers are trying to figure out why anyone would go for 2 there.

But you could replace it or add to it with a quick mashup of all the most violent moments of all the pancake hits, one-on-one maulings, etc. throughout the game. Closeups of lineman pancakes, Hill smashing DBs, and so on. Just a 10 or 15-second blur of intense, total ass kicking, maybe even at full speed instead of slow motion.

Absolutely leave their wounded in the video. No one suffered a catastrophic or career ending injury. Football is a physical game and one where it's ok to hurt the opposition. Don't ever forget 60 minutes of unnecessary roughness don't forget the denard helmet twist the shot to mike Martin's knee. Punish them within the rules and celebrate at Michigan's physical domination of the game.

It would be in poor taste if the players were seriously injured, but is showing a player's physical pain significantly different than showing Dantonio's emotional pain?  They are football players.  There is nothing wrong with pointing out when you've inflicted pain on an opponent in the natural course of a game.  This isn't badminton.

Just glorious.  He must be coming to the realization that it's over.

Jim Harbaugh + top 5 recruiting classes is a brutal uphill battle for lil bro.  He also doesn't have much "disrespek" or "shoulder chip" fuel left to burn.
