Hearing interesting tidbits about Sanders to CU
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
The return of FlightAware!!
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:36 PM ^
Love how that flight is (currently) scheduled to land at 11:42 PM MT.
Trying to sneak Deion into Boulder jn the middle of the night. But that doesn’t work any more in the era of Flight Aware!
(I used to live a mile from Broomfield Airport. Fun seeing the planes come in on final approach from my balcony. Less fun having all the noisy wildfire tanker planes take off all the time in the summer)
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Go get some binoculars and report back at 11:42PM
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:56 PM ^
My office overlooks the airport. I live 3 miles from this airport. It wouldn’t arise suspicion if I hide in the bushes with binoculars?
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:07 PM ^
Camp out on the patio at Burns Pub instead.
December 3rd, 2022 at 7:23 PM ^
The entire idea of sneaking Deion Sanders anywhere is comical to start with. The next thing he's quiet about will be the first.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
Deion going to Colorado is an intriguing choice after Karl Dorrell seemingly finished off salting the earth there
By SP+ ratings, 2022 Colorado is the worst P5 team since 2015 Kansas. Ranked this year below all but one MAC team (Akron)
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:03 PM ^
They're the worst FBS team in Colorado, which is really saying something this year!
December 4th, 2022 at 6:54 PM ^
AFA had a nice season
Got the CINC trophy.
Their three losses were all by one score.
Brad Roberts ran for over 1,600 yards.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:13 PM ^
I can't see this coaching move ending well, but I didn't stay at a holiday in last night either.
Edit: I can't see it getting worse for the Buffs either. They are already near rock bottom.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:38 PM ^
Near?
December 4th, 2022 at 12:31 AM ^
I mean, I think UConn was multiple years at rock bottom. Seems like Colorado just arrived there.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:10 PM ^
The only way this gets worse for CU is if they threaten to drop the program. It's a terrible on-field product without the veneer of elite private college academics a Northwestern, Vandy, Duke can use as an excuse.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
I'm going to be absolutely fascinated to see how this plays out for Colorado. The plausible outcomes range from "dumpster fire goes supernova" to "Buffs in the playoffs in 2026."
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
As a CU grad, I’d like this (potential) hire. I’m glad Sparty can’t steal him too, before we can even figure out if he’s a keeper.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
If he’s a keeper, *Colorado* ain’t keeping him.
And if he *is* a keeper, no way no how would Sparty be signing him.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:12 PM ^
Yeah, but maybe we could stop being the 'everybody's favorite homecoming opponent' doormat of the Pac 12 for a couple seasons. (Like we were in the Big 8 before McCartney.) Maybe coach primetime could put a winning culture in place before he bails for his dream job or the next step up.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:08 PM ^
Two winning seasons in a row and he's gone. He'll go to an Arkansas or South Carolina next.
December 6th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
At some point he's gonna want the big stage in a big market. You don't think he could aim higher than Ark or SC after winning in Boulder?
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:21 PM ^
Maybe he too can have a mediocre year there before getting a huge payday at MSU.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:27 PM ^
Mel got $1.9M for every msu win this year. Think about that
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
Does that include the $100K bonus he stole from his assistants?
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
But he got zero for each loss. For MSU that’s a good investment since they get so many of those 😂
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
I’ve done business with a few of the current MSU trustees and this is way closer to their actual business acumen then you can even imagine.
December 3rd, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Not many bright bulbs there. Their ex-trustee Brian Moselum (sp?) seriously suggested Tom Izzo for MSU President.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:22 PM ^
Mike Barwis is what I’m hearing for Sanders’ S&C guy. Can you imagine what he will be able to do with Colorado’s 3 star recruits? They will all look like Ray Lewis and run like Carl Lewis!
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:13 PM ^
Prime is quickly going to bring 4* and 5* transfers and recruits to CU.
December 4th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
Which, isn't a stretch to begin with.
Colorado should be pulling down the stars without even trying... great school, beautiful campus, great Colorado lifestyle, lots of pretty girls from LA and Phoenix all around.
For kids from the south, Front Range winters are a joke. It was shorts and t-shirt weather this weekend.
Why previous coaches couldn't tap into all of that is negligent.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:25 PM ^
Double post.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:24 PM ^
Colorado could use some juice so I really respect just swinging for the fences on this one.
Always have loved Colorado for some stupid reason. Maybe it’s the buffs helmet stickers in the old NCAA games.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:35 PM ^
I can't get over what happened. It still hurts, so I'm not going to talk about it. Unfortunately, there is video evidence of what Colorado did, so you can judge if I should forgive them.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
ralphie? 1000 lb mascot pretty cool
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:04 PM ^
Exactly what I was thinking, but you said it better than I ever could.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
Yes, and all JSU transfers to UM
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
Honestly, this is just crazy enough to work.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:08 PM ^
The players he will bring with him from Jackson State will not be insignificant. His son will light up PAC 12 defenses.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:11 PM ^
Seems like a bizarre choice to me—would have thought USF was a natural fit.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
If Hartline is indeed going to end up in Cincy, then I could see Deion poaching a WR from there.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
What a great opportunity for Sanders. He can go 5-7 in his first year and then replace Tucker to the tune of $9.5 mil/yr. Sand comin'!
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
Leave OSU and Bama to go to Colorado? Are you kidding?
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:50 PM ^
I mean is ohio or alabama even comparable to colorado as a state? Have you ever been to boulder? That campus is amazing, surrounded by mountains.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:48 PM ^
He'll draw talent there, for sure. Be interesting to see what he's able to do in the P5.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
I'd be a little surprised if Sanders pulls all that off but if you told me he had CU competing for division titles in the Pac 12 in 2-3 years I wouldn't be shocked.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:06 PM ^
I don't get why he'd go there though... In a medicare conference for a bad team
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
I've learned to expect the unexpected with Deion.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:15 PM ^
Isn't Bama's DC about to get fired there anyway? Feels like a Nussmeier situation
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:27 PM ^
I'm doing a little research on this. Hartline says his heart is at Ohio. I know coaches lie all the time but he doesn't seem to want to leave what he's got there. Deion will be interesting.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:55 PM ^
This hire will be another disaster for CU.
