Harbaugh: Miserable, as always.....Jim Rome: A jackass, as always

If it's been posted and already removed, cave it. If Rome is persona non grata here, cave it. I understand.

he came out very, very hard in defense of Harbaugh on the satellite camp issue and all things SEC vs. Harbaugh. He fawns on Harbaugh most of the time. Here, I think he's being reflexively defensive of his media brethren, and that's about it. "Great coach, unbelievable coach" doesn't sound like someone who has it in for Harbaugh vis-a-vis Finebaum.

this is getting is rediculous. Nick Saban has done similar things during interviews, Mark Dantonio hung up on a phone interview, and yet Harbaugh is in the wrong here? Also, I love it when media pundits complain about all the coverage Harbaugh is getting as if they're not the ones who are doing the reporting. You don't get to cover every specific detail about Harbaugh during the offseason, and then try to use that against him.

I'll say it: I like Rome's schtick. The whole culture of the show is pretty damn hilarious. His takes are usually just angry soundbites that are pretty forgetable after the fact, but the key is when he gets on a roll and it works.
And, of course, it's always awesome when the Sklars guest-host. /sklone4lyfe

If I'm driving and he's on the radio, I'll listen.
And the Sklars are great, not to mention two Michigan alums. Nice guys off-mic/camera, too.

I find his schtick funny. He's a self made man like Trapper in Dana Point.

NO, it's fucking not part of the job. Harbaugh could literally go to a pressed and say I'm just here so I don't get fined and that would be reasonable. His job is to recruit, coach, educate, and mentor student athletes.
Answering every question some jackass in the media asks is not part of the job.

Part of the problem with the world today is the wussification of society.
"Coach...don't talk mean to little Johnny, it hurts his feelings".
"Coach was mean to little Johnny today....".
Who gives a shit if some media guy didn't get his question answered 100% the way he wanted. They'll get more spin out of the Harbaugh emotion than they would if Harbaugh just would've answered the question.
We hired JH for who he is. Intense. Maniacal. Football loving genius. He's done more for the game in the last 3 months than any other man on the planet. If you want peace and harmony press conferences go somewhere else. I happen to like things the way we have them. There's no better man for the job.

I get that Harbaugh is not everyone's cup of tea. That's what Michigan signed up for when they asked him to come back. But as long as he keeps winning, then I don't really care. It's the same reason that Saban can keep over signing or that Meyer can form circles of trust. They win.
Winning has a way of shutting everyone up and gets everyone's heads looking the same way.

Head Coaches who dont want to answer questions will always be in conflict with media members who want their questions answered. I like both Harbaugh and Rome and I dont see how this reflects poorly on either. Just the nature of their respective and conflicting job duties.

wants to through Freshmen to the wolves. Sports casters are among the lowest forms of primates. Their job is to create controversy for the sake of ratings and to feed the trolls. I admire Harbaugh for keeping his players out of the tabloids; even though enquiring minds want to know!
