Handicap parking at/near the stadium

Submitted by MGoBun on August 13th, 2019 at 1:59 PM

I usually park at Briarwood then take the AATA shuttle to the stadium, but I have recently become partially disabled and was wondering what handicap parking options are available at/near the stadium.

Has anyone here ever used handicap parking there or have any other recommendations?  Or is taking the shuttle still our best bet?  (Getting TO the stadium that way might not be a problem, but getting back can be another story.  I've had to wait a really long time to get the shuttle back to Briarwood but I can no longer stand for very long and will have difficulty walking to the end of the gargantuan line.)

Thanks!

My father has MS and so he needs to use accessible seating and parking. We buy a permit in the Blue Lot (right behind the stadium) through the university during the season ticket renewal process. It works pretty well. I doubt that option is available this year..but good for the future knowledge I guess.

Worth reaching out to the athletic department to see if they have anything available. After the original ADA suits they were *very* proactive about allocating accessible seating and parking.

OP, I hope this works out. If the athletic department is accommodating, as I expect, please share with us. This would be good data for others who may need assistance.

UofM golf course is exclusively handicapped parking on the blacktop, the entrance off Stadium, with a courtesy golf cart shuttle.  We’ve got friends that park there every time they go, I’ve tailgated there a couple times, and can say it normally doesn’t fill up until about 60-90 mins before kickoff except for rivalry games.
