Greg Mattison appreciation thread
This team has now gone ten quarters without giving up a TD. Let's all pause and acknowledge the contribution of Greg Mattison in creating this defense, handing it over to DJ Durkin with such grace and aplomb, and staying on to help guide them to such astonishing success.
Dunno where this team goes from here, but Greg Mattison has covered himself with glory for the good of this team, and is going to be remembered for it.

and that Harbaugh is using him where he works best. We are going to get the best recruits and stronger!

games not over yet, but regardless Greg Mattison took a defense that was in the bottom 20 of college football and made it into one of the best.

Hell F'n yes!
To a man so loyal to Michigan that he stayed and took a damn demotion when his head coach was fired. And he did it with grace and confidence. What a Michigan Man!
And he's shown what an amazing coach he is. He is the B1G position coach of the year IMO, and it isn't even close.

I hate to be contrarian but that statement doesn't apply to one Greg Mattison.

I admit I did not like the DL rotating in and out so much the past couple of years ,but it has really built a ton of depth and is paying off now big time.

Greg Mattison and the whole defensive staff have turned a talented group of players that I think we already knew were good but could perhaps be better into a group that has been better than what many of us may have imagined. This is something to behold surely, and yes, of anyone that should have been kept, it was this man.

I agree. Very humble to stay and take a lesser position . He truly loves the U of M .

I think you are confusing your fandom with a man who is doing his job. He may love his players but to say he truly loves the U of M seems kind of a stretch for a man as close to being able to retire as he is.
