Greg Mattison appreciation thread

Submitted by MGlobules on

This team has now gone ten quarters without giving up a TD. Let's all pause and acknowledge the contribution of Greg Mattison in creating this defense, handing it over to DJ Durkin with such grace and aplomb, and staying on to help guide them to such astonishing success.

Dunno where this team goes from here, but Greg Mattison has covered himself with glory for the good of this team, and is going to be remembered for it.

Hell F'n yes!

To a man so loyal to Michigan that he stayed and took a damn demotion when his head coach was fired. And he did it with grace and confidence. What a Michigan Man!

And he's shown what an amazing coach he is. He is the B1G position coach of the year IMO, and it isn't even close.

Greg Mattison was, and remains, one of the top d lineman coaches in 'merica. Not to mention, he's one of the quality people you're lucky to have in your life, as John Harbaugh would paraphrase.

I admit I did not like the DL rotating in and out so much the past couple of years ,but it has really built a ton of depth and is paying off now big time.

Greg Mattison and the whole defensive staff have turned a talented group of players that I think we already knew were good but could perhaps be better into a group that has been better than what many of us may have imagined. This is something to behold surely, and yes, of anyone that should have been kept, it was this man.
