Glad to see all of you are so noble to walk away from $4.3 million

Dantonio’s a douche and there’s a lot of reasons to tear him a new one for skulking our the back door the way that he is. But his hanging around just long enough to get an extra 4 million isn’t one of them.

Every single one of you would have done the exact same thing and you’re all full of shit if you claim otherwise.

Otherwise, happy trails Mark. Don’t let the door hit you in your prideful ass on the way out.

I will just say that Ive seen that situation many times in my 26 years in banking. Nobody voluntarily walks away from money to help out the institution/shareholders. They leave only when they get paid.

you want to lay blame, blame the institution whether its a bank or a university. The institution set the incentives and  signed the contract. Sure it’s infuriating when you watch someone runs a business (football program) into the ground and walks off with millions. Moralize all you want but very few people would ever just walk away from $4.3mm theyre owed. Me, I’d take the money and set up my own foundation. But I sure as he wouldnt say, hey you keep the ‘money

Perspective is everything.

"But his hanging around just long enough to get an extra 4 million isn’t one of them.

So, you are an individual with a reported net worth of $14 million. This coming year, your salary is going to be $5.6 million.

The question is, resign before you can grab another lump sum $4.3 as you run out the door or let your employer know MONTHS sooner, as well as your co-workers that you won't be coming back and will retire?

Believe it or not but being financially set with a net worth of $14 million what exactly do I need the extra $4 million and change for?

On a side note, I do not think that Dantonio took the money and ran. I believe he was at least going to coach one more season (taking the $5.6 million as well as the $4 million bonus) but after the alleged recruiting violations by Blackwell's attorney, a possible demand that coaching changes be made that the powers to be at Michigan State made it be known that the time to leave was now and being the good soldier he did.
