I read all that BTN fluffery today. And that's really all it is. It reads like the theme song to The Lego Movie: EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! EVERYTHING IS COOL WHEN YOU'RE PART OF THIS TEAM.

The only vaguely critical comment was about the running backs needing to bring it this year.

It was all more of a marketing effort than any sort of insightful analysis. And besides, do you really think Harbaugh would let them see what life is *really* like on the submarine?

put a positive spin on each team, especially when they work for the conference. Enjoy and embrace the optimism. We will find out soon enough what reality brings.

I'd much rather have him be positive about our chances. He could have gone the other way and then we'd be defensive about our team and say he's dead wrong. Having said that, let's just beat Hawaii and go from there.

With all of these predictions, the SI cover, are we going to officially dub this the cursed season until something good, like a win over MSU and/or OSU, a Big Ten Title, a Playoff Spot, a National Championship, happens?

has said, says, and will say a lot of things about BIG football generally and about M specifically that have turned out, do, and will turn out to be exaggerations. And hey, at this stage in the season every team has a chance to go undefeated.

M is no doubt a good team and might be a great team who will put out another first-year QB, whose O-line has never been better than OK and whose starting RB needs to be really healthy. Receivers are good to excellent. The D, especially if the LBs turn out to be good, will keep M in a number of games and in several could well supply the victory difference.

Of course I hope Gerry's right, but let's check back with him after the Wisconsin, Iowa, and MSU games and see how he feels then.

but he has been around a long time and he's obviously impressed with what he sees at practice, so I will at least take it that the team is looking very good.
