Gattis needs to get out of the booth, and onto the sidelines.

IMO.

This is not a fix all. However, I think it would help both him and his offensive players at this time.

He has no clue, almost no experience, no flow or feel for the game, and no plan.  Getting on the sidelines will just make it worse.

Harbaugh was asked today if he is dissatisfied with the offense and if he will take a stronger role calling plays.  He said no, it's Josh's offense and he has total confidence in the coaches and the players, blah blah blah...

I realize this is mostly PR speak, but this response is really disappointing. Better means different.  The offensive approach, game planning and play calling are not working.  He has to make changes.

You can put Gattis anywhere and it still won't make a difference.  This offense is doomed without some serious changes.

Not a good idea. There's a reason the coordinator is in the booth and it's the same reason they don't watch game film from a sideline camera. I might be remembering wrong, but I think Gattis called an okay game. Okay isn't good enough against a quality opponent but that was only his third time calling a game. Our line couldn't block anyone and Gattis tried the quick slants and screens but the offense couldn't execute. We couldn't run the ball, quick hitters failed, and Shea was running for his life and getting drilled almost every time he dropped back. I'm not sure what play he could confidently call to even get a few yards and certainly not 10 plus.

Wow.

The O.C. can see the game better from the press box?

Amazing. Never would have thought of that...

Now try expanding your thinking to the plethora of potential reasons, that at this time, it would actually be a good idea.

Hmmmmm.

The amount of brilliant narrow-mindedness on this board is amazing.

I disagree. It's important to have somebody in the box with a clear understanding of how defenses are reacting, particularly with an RPO-oriented offense. The one actually calling the plays is typically the best choice for that.
