Friday Night NCAA Football Open Thread

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Well, there isn't a whole lot of football on tonight except, well, Connecticut versus South Florida. Actually, if I remember correctly, this is the only game tonight, and the weather does not look all that great down in Tampa Bay. Still, it's football, but I make no promises as to the quality, of course.

If there is any interest at all (I am not fooling myself on the level, of course), Massey has Connecticut in a close matchup perhaps (57% win probability, so not a given, of course), so it could be be about as interesting as an AAC game not involving Tubervile could be, and even then....but anyway.

Mentioned this to LSA on Twitter, but the atmosphere at this Maryland-sparty soccer game on BTN right now is incredible. I joked there's more people at that soccer game than the USF football game.

MD has a good program, but they have over 7,000 in attendance right now.

Perspective: Michigan's largest home crowd in their history was 3,503 in the dedication game for U-M Soccer Stadium.

Actually, on a few predictive (not necessarily betting) sites that I've seen, Southern Illinois is the favorite in this game, so if it turns out that Purdue does lose, well, Purdue. Actually, for visual agony, Iowa-Pitt might be a good candidate tomorrow - I have to believe that this game might just cause bouts of hysterical blindness on some series at least.
