Well the embed doesn't seem to want to work for me, but here is a vine of Canteen running a route.

Forgive me but we have seen tons of footage on tons of guys who all have that one special play at a drill session, camp or game.

Until we see someone routinely shine at the college level, many of you need to put down your bong and get a grip on reality.

The odds of this kid being "special" at Michigan is not good. That doesn't mean he won't be a player/contributor. It just means that too many of you think every kid is going to come in and change the program. It's just stupid on your part to think that.

And happy Halloween. I just crapped in your candy bag.

You could even tighten up that route to make it happen faster. For press cover man this would really get people open, and you could make the final cut inside or outside. Maybe call this Shake Post/Shake Corner? Cool stuff.

Canteen "may be" a great example of why you look at the player and not only the star rating. I think that typically, someone with 4 stars, and even moreso with 5 stars, is guaranteed to be a very good player (i.e., the likes of Pepper, Hand, McDowell, Harris, Campbell, etc.) You can see this by the offer lists . . . it seems every 5 star is offered by Alabama, Ohio, Stanford, ND, Auburn, Georgia, Texas, USC, Florida, etc. That's an oversimplification, but you know what I mean.

Where teams really can stand out is in uncovering recruits who are slightly below the radar. Canteen could be one of these. So would Jake Ryan. So would Graham Glasgow. So was Mike Hart. The more you can find 3 stars and walk ons who are huge competitors and contributors, the better off the team will be, by far. Alabama and Ohio and a few others will always get their share of the top 100 players. Michigan has gotten several already for 2014. But when our coaches can supplement the 3 - 5 top hundred players with another 2 - 3 who are that good, but not ranked that high, it makes all the difference in the world.
