Football visitors this week/weekend
This weekend Michigan will be having its biggest recruiting event so far this summer. The incoming group includes several commits (Will Johnson, Kody Jones, etc.) but will also have 5-star defensive tackle Walter Nolen and top-100 prospect George Pettaway.
Any clue if the Georgia DBs or Strickland will make a trip a different weekend or are they no longer realistic targets?
The gist I get is that they will not be rescheduling. The staff reshuffling was one factor.
I see Bert Emanuel Jr on the list... reminds me of that one interview that asshole Keyshawn Johnson had, when he joined the team as the FA where Emanuel was starting, and Keyshawn says to reporter that "I am not gonna come in and be a Bert Emanuel..." meaning, he will be a high impact WR.
Good to have you on Mgoblog Bert!
I don't think you got what he was saying
I was making a joke that this must be Bert Emmanuel because only Bert Himself would remember such an obscure fact. This has been another episode of "my joke was clearly really good because I had to explain it"
Wow. Pretty amazing group coming. Let's hope we get some commitments!
That's a helluva list. Hope we have a chance at those 2023 kids as well.
Anyone else concerned with the 2022 class? I know coming off of COVID and a bunch of new staff has an effect, but it just seems like Michigan's recruiting is not going as well as anticipated. Michigan currently sits at #22 with only 7 commits, which seems low compared to past seasons. It would be nice to get a Finkley and/or Heyer commit out of this weekend! Magnus, any thought on who may be the next commit?
No not yet. Things will get going quickly because of visits now. Be concerned if Michigan is having a shitty season. If Michigan has a 9-3 type season, which is what I expect, they should at least finish top 15 ish.
Yeah it is very early but we don’t lead for many top prospects which is very concerning. Still lots of time but I dont see this class being a top 15 class in the nation unless they have a lot of commits this year
Surprised with no commits over the past two weekends
Walter Nolen is not coming and you can’t tell me otherwise until he wraps up his third straight season as a consensus all American for the Maize and blue. He. Is. Not. Coming. (But please come, Walter)
Kinda sounds like you’re punting on the idea this young man is coming here....
Ah, you're using the Jedi mind trick on him. Good call!
Will you believe the student directory?
Who will update us on the directory without WD here
Anyone know how many recruits we will be signing? I wonder if the staff will bank any scholarships for the transfer portal or if they will just count on losing a couple of players to the portal and using those to go after transfers.
Somewhere between 10 and 28.
Honestly, no one has a clue. I bet the coaches don't even know. Remember, 2020 didn't even count, so everyone who was already in college last season has one extra year.
