First Day of Spring Practice OL
One configuration of the 1st Team OL today had:
LT - Cole
LG - Bredeson
C - Ruiz
RG - Onwenu
RT - JBB
Not something one couldn't have predicted, but it is interesting to see that the coaches are indeed open to move Cole from center and are trusting enough of Ruiz early on to let him man the middle of the line.
That's all, short post. Just anxious to get back into football mode.

was thinking the line-up would be this year, at the end of the season last year? Uh, maybe we could find out what the line-up is before we start talking about Kugler and others and if they are going to sit or not. This is concerning.

...but you still like lower rated prospects who exceed their HS star rating, right?
Just checking.
And it's Kugler. One 'e'.
Is there still talk of a grad transfer?
you are the most recent one to do so.

If you want to get specific I typed that.

I can't believe Walton's shot didn't go in.
March 24th, 2017 at 10:17 PM ^
Right? That shot always goes in in the movies.

Gonna miss him.
Can Ruiz play point guard? Looks like he can do everything else.

at great peril.

be posting the guards often.

I know, right? After an entire game where it seemed you couldn't just pull up & hit a 3 at will one was bound to go in somehow. It's the laws of probablilty.

Very young and raw but loads of talent and Drevno has a history of getting a lot out of young lines

I really like this coaching staff, but I just simply don't have a lot of faith in JBB. Never liked him even back in HS. I'm hoping Nolan Ulizio or one of the freshman emerge at the RT spot.

Shit, you graduated from Paramus Catholic, class of '14?
March 24th, 2017 at 10:37 PM ^
vastness- can't Onwenu just play both guard and tackle at the same time?
LT - Cole
LG - Bredeson
C - Ruiz
R - Onwenu

It would allow us to get another TE or FB on the field.

One guy makes a snarky mistake. Do we really need 50 comments saying almost the exact same thing..?
March 25th, 2017 at 12:13 PM ^
You must be new here.
March 25th, 2017 at 10:23 AM ^
Looks like a good unit to me. If it sticks this way, I'm sure JBB/Ulizio/Stueber/Filiaga will have an intense summer competition for right tackle.
If JBB starts and doesn't perform, you have to think Ulizio is next man up at first.

For sure. He plays OG, right? Figure him and Kugler are the first options off the bench for the interior spots. We know Bredeson will hold his own and I have high expectations for Onwenu, but Runyan is a nice option to have as a back up RG to Big Mike.
Yeah, but Runyan is a center/guard.
