Start your morning with KBA + Naz's emotional postgame press conference and remind yourself of how special of a women's team and coach we have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSCATeo-Zso

Then watch Juwan's pregame press conference and remind yourself how special of a men's team and coach we have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqanY4Snwcg

Whatever happens today, it's great to be etc. etc. etc.

I've been hearing rumblings that Livers is going to give it a go but not from anyone reputable yet. Anyone else hearing this?

Is it just coming from that photo from the official Twitter account that appeared to show livers in workout clothes and no boot in the background as if he'd been running?

Bad news: they decided to take the leg.

Good news:  they replaced it with a bionic prosthesis that will allow him to run faster, jump higher, and occasionally shoot electrical discharges that will immobilize those nearby for a few seconds.

Bad news:  the electrical discharges are essentially random and will not be under control until the next upgrade.  Also, the new leg may or may not have a vulnerable security flaw that will expose it to cyberattacks by Chinese/Russian groups.

Good news:  the movie rights have already been sold and expect this story to hit theaters/streams by 2024.

I just picked out my game day clothes.  I'll get some exercise in this morning, then don the game gear afterwards.    No, I'm not at WD's level regarding Michigan clothing.   But I admit that I feel lingering guilt because I think I caused our Illinois loss in the B1G tourney.   After that game, I discovered the horrid realization that I was not wearing any Michigan clothing.   I am now laser-like focused on game day clothing.   The M boxers will be activated.

EDIT:  As pointed out below, change Illinois to OSU in the above story!

Watching KBA highlights how ridiculous forced interviews are. She's devastated and fighting back tears and having to answer questions like "What's it like in the locker room?" Props to her for her professionalism.

It's why it means so much to us, because it means so much to them. Sports like this is one of those times where it's okay to feel that high, or to feel that low. There's not a sport out there that brings out those feelings as this tournament does, for both the men and women. Of course, I've always rooted for the ladies, but after this year I am really looking forward to seeing more of their games next year. They played with a ton of passion and heart and I think we all feel next year has the potential to be really special.

Yeah, I felt KBA's pain having to take those questions.   I had tears in my eyes.   Any athlete can empathize with her emotions.  Ending a special season is so damn tough.

My favorite part was near the 17:00 minute mark of the press conference.    She was quite passionate about defending the program and how they felt disrespected by the tournament committee.   It's unimaginable to me how a program can undergo a complete shutdown - no gym time, no workouts, nothing - and then suddenly press on the accelerator and continue the season as if nothing happened.

You know, I keep hearing from losing teams, "Their athleticism and height really bothered us". I think we have a sound philosophy and structure to our play, but it's kinda getting into my head knowing how LSU was bothering Mike towards the end there. It's going to be 40 minutes of 'focus, focus, focus' not only for him, but for the whole team.

I remember several people on this blog calling for KBA's dismissal many times over the last couple of years.  Just like many did with Beilein and Bakich, before they got their teams going at a much higher level.  So is this where we start the 'Fire KBA' blog chants, like we did with Beilein and - especially - Bakich?

Maybe it will work as well for the women's bball program as it has for men's bball and baseball?

Good luck to the men today - I look forward to them getting some revenge out of Baylor's hide in two weeks!

Just went and got a Covid test. Symptoms started showing up last night. Nothing too bad just slight chills and a cough. I was expecting this with my school opting to go full face to face from the hybrid model we’ve done all year. Already have around 200 students quarantined, so it was probably only a matter of time for when I would be exposed.

I don’t know if this can be stated enough: We are very fortunate to have these two genuine, high quality people guiding these programs. Go Blue!

Had some nervous energy to start the day but really started to think about and break down the game. FSU has laid some eggs this season but can beat anybody when they get going.

It sure seems like Michigan has, and continues to, receive every teams best punch. It feels pretty improbable how many players have gone off for near career nights against Michigan lately. I think were ready for FSU's best shot and can still beat them when they bring it. And if they can't hit shots tonight they could be in trouble.

I work with many non-Americans who, understandably are puzzled by the US college system (high tuitions etc.) Esp. Many are puzzled by the massive $ spent on sports programs.

They honestly have a point, but the best counterpoint or “explanation” may be programs like Michigan’s women’s BB team, where it is clearly an incubator for learning persistence, leadership, resilience etc. that I’m certain will serve the players well after college  (just as poorly led CFB or CBB can teach poor lessons of arrogance, rule breaking, irresponsibility etc.).

Have my tickets. First live sporting event since March 6, 2020 (Friday night Hockey vs MSU in first round of B1G Tournament). I'll scream my ass off for our Wolverines.

Most of the CBS talking heads are all in for FSU.  My original bracket I had FSU defeating us but now I'm thinking the team is playing well without Livers, so I think they can go on and defeat FSU and give a close game to Alabama or the winner of that game.
