EMU is bowl eligible!
With the upset road win over (Mo Linguist coached) Buffalo, EMU is now bowl eligible fir the 3rd consecutive season (and 6th time in the Chris Creighton era)... and this was a "rebuilding year" for them.
Impressive accomplishment and looking to be only the 2nd team from the state of MI to be bowling this season (CMU would need to pull a major upset over Toledo this Friday to make a bowl, which is not looking very promising.)

Yeah, that beard was a terrible look. I didn't get it at all.
Creighton's one of those dudes who looked pretty darn good even though his hair went completely gray in his 40s. Well-set face, strong jaw, good skin, mostly gray hair. Looked great. (I know a few of those type of guys, I'm a bit jealous of them honestly).
The beard, though, good God. Awful. Just go clean-shaven.

It's really quite strange that he hasn't been poached by someone. Perhaps the profile on EMU is so low he just doesn't get on the radar? Granted he's not had the crazy undefeated outlier type season that often catapults guys from this level to the next, but I don't even hear his name coming up. 9-4, 7-6 the last two years and going bowling again this year is something else at Eastern.

He's 52-67 overall at Eastern. We know that he's a good coach, because we recognize how tough that job is (the mere fact that he's survived 10 seasons speaks volumes). But that record is a tough sell for fans of a bigger program.
But good for EMU! He might end up being a lifer there.

It's not really that confounding. ADs are busy people and like all other humans flow like water - following the path of least resistance. An anonymous coach from EMU without a New Year's Six bowl or even a conference title is a harder sell for a lot of programs.
So just hire ND State's latest championship coach or whatever and be done with it.
That being said. I fully agree that guy deserves at least a Conference USA job or Mountain West or whatever.

Awesome for EMU! Went to the EMU-Toledo game hoping they might pull off an upset there, but not so much. But they really buckled down and got it done the last two games, which is even more impressive if this was a down year (hard to believe they went 9-4 and were co-division champions last year)...

I watched the Bowling Green - WMU game and realized that 2 of our 3 non conference opponents will be in bowl games, BGSU at 7-5 and UNLV atop the Mountain West. Schedule looks better in retrospect.
