will ever commit to Michigan again. Like rats fleeing a sinking ship, all of our current commits will decommit and all of our players will transfer.

Or, I hope(?). Cuz if not, that would really suck.

Steady now...

Thanks for the info. I guess I can't say I'm too surprised and I still think we will bring in a good RB class with White and Drake.

While it sucks to miss out on a player like Clements, the RB position is the least of our worries at this point. I think the coaching staff is saving every remaining scholarship for defensive players, or at least they should be IMO.

Agreed, with a small caveat. Defensive players and "big fish" offensive guys who you can't turn down (such as Seantrel Henderson - Yes I know it is a longshot).

Exactly what I was going to say. Not only with White and Hopkins, but the previous classes make RB not a position of priority.

Agreed, this would have been a good pickup but doesn't feel like it makes much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. I'm excited about Vincent Smith.

Bivens:
I'll see your Vincent Smith, and raise with MIKE COX, Michael Shaw and Fitzgerald Toussaint.
Michigan is just fine on the RB front for the next 5 years. Get more defensive talent!!!!

Miami might as well have a fence around that school. There is a very prevalent Dade/Broward County clique on the Miami team, too. If Clemens was already a part of it while still in HS, he was going to be a lock no matter what Michigan did.
Kids from both schools go to other schools, but Miami usually gets a very high percentage of the ones they want. The cliche of "skimming the cream from the top" applies here. I am a lot more surprised when another school gets a high-profile recruit from Booker T or Northwestern than I am when Miami does.
UM will be fine; there are still plenty of kids to go around. Besides, that's one more scholly that can go to the other side of the ball.

last 4 or 5 scholarships are going to the defensive side of the ball. I hope

...now hopefully RR can work that snake oil to get Torrain Wilson to decommitt from stanford and commit to us
November 3rd, 2009 at 10:22 PM ^
That's okay. That just leaves more space for defense!
