I've got that same sense about Jabrill. Leaving now would contradict his original plans for his college career: win a national championship, beat OSU, earn a degree. This is the essential "those who stay" scenario too, where the rest of the country expects him to leave on the merit of his draft stock and then returns to cement his legacy as a Michigan man and champion. Just think, Jabrill would lead LaVert Hill, Jordan Anthony, Tyree Kinnel, JKP, Ambry, and maybe even Singleton, Holmes, and Gay. All of those guys have insane potential, and all of them model themselves in some capacity off of Jabrill's game. Not only would that create potentially the best defense in the country again next year, but set themselves up to maintain that for years to come. Jabrill has too much to achieve and too little to lose (what, he might get injured before the NFL or something, if anything he's not going to lose his draft stock). Jabrill could also be encouraged by the fact that just about all of his other teammates with the option to go to the NFL are returning (Hurst, Mone, Cole, Hill, McCray).

You bring up some very valid points in regard to him helping lead and mold next years defense although some of the frosh players that you mentioned may not see the field a ton in 2017. My contention is that Peppers is a thinker first and foremost and if you could peer into his psyche I believe you would come away with....I have unfinished business. He wants to beat OSU at home and upgrade his coverage skills. The Heisman still lingers in his taste buds as well. The degree is something he and his mother both want him to have upon leaving. He just saw Lewis successfully navigate a senior season...Why not him? Why not enjoy your last year of college?

I'm really curious about insurance policies. For someone like Jabrill, projected to be chosen in the top 10 of the NFL draft, with pretty guaranteed bonus and salary figures, what kind of insurance on projected future earnings is available? Can you borrow at a realistic rate to pay for such a policy?

Here is the table for 2016. There should be an ability to insure for some value, based on NFL evaluation.

That sixth sense and a dollar might get you a cup of coffee but Peppers isn't coming back. He is a first round pick who was a Heisman finalist. He played for a team that had a legitimate shot at the Playoff. He's gone. Wishful thinking though.

Keep in mind Meyer was able to keep the superior talent that OH has and turned that into wins immediately. Wins turned him into a national closer. We'll get there. JH is pulling kids from all over. An appearance or two in the CFP and we'll have those kids coming after us instead of having to chase them. That's how it is for Meyer and Saban now.

Collins will not end up at Georgia. If he plays in the SEC it will be Alabama. He will be there or at Michigan. I know it's the popular opinion because of the January 28 visit but this isn't a Wilson situation. In fact, he has a visit to Alabama the week before that on the 21st. This is a Michigan vs. Alabama contest for him. I lean toward Bama because they have fewer on their roster right now and he is an in-state recruit for them.

Yeah we are stacked at the WR position, but today's news regarding Grant Perry may leave more room for Collins to join than previously anticipated. I hope Grant the best, but his career at Michigan looks bleak.

My point is a lot of guys do that. Truly what was he ever going to get? Did anyone actually think he was going to leave early (based off the year he had or his NFL potential...not personal circumstances that most of us know nothing about). Hurst and Peppers were/are the only two that had a realistic shot for it to be worth it IMO. Again based off of football. Not personal circumstances that make any round worth it.

Hopefully we can manage to sneak another NJ kid past that wall or gate or fort or whatever Rutgers is building there. Our linebackers are going to be nasty in 2 years.

Ye of little faith. I wonder why two running backs visit at the same time and a long time commit, de-commits four days later to go to a lower end school. Jeez, I just can't figure it out. It's just so confusing. 26,27, 28, solomon and collins. We are set with our interior line as we should get two of the top four guards next year. Worried about tackle situation. I really feel Wilson got some strange pressure from somewhere. That situation just seems hinky to me. Obviously I am pro UM as they get, but who do you want to play for Jim Harbaugh or Kirby who?. I could see it if he was from the south.

I think the timing you cite is probably more coincidence and a function of how highly active the compressed period between the end of HS football seasons and the dead period is. But keep hoping. I also don't think that whatever their optimism on Harris is, that it has enough certainty to it that the staff would then cool on another kid at this point until Harris is more of a sure thing.  Maybe only if they were already having doubt that they wanted that guy anyway. And since Harris is an early enrollee, they could have just waited until we all knew for sure in like 2 weeks, and then gently nudged someone else towards another school if we get Harris with that player still having time for other OVs and to find a soft landing spot.

Call me a jerk but some of these high school kids are very naive and so are they're parents. SEC guys like Kirby are manipulators and will do whatever they need to so they can persuade a kid there. A master of character and personality judgement like myself can just look at Kirby Smart and tell that he is one of those guys. They way he talks, looks and  acts gives it away. I've met thousands of people and I know every type. There are only so many types of personalies out there! He was coerced into some bullshit to go to Athens. What does Athens offer that no other place does? Nothing except sweltering and miserable heat in the summer. There are only  a few other states that offer that. I think we know which ones they are.

I know I might have missed this elsewhere and great we have good vibes on Singleton, but why hasn't there been a "hello" post on Anthony ' s commitment? Just wondering!
