NCAA will deny on the suspicion that he was intentionally run over by a forklift to get another year and will investigate further while Ole Miss hands out money in recruit's gift bags and Baylor expels any woman willing to tell the truth about their football program

If he doesn't get it...my .00000000000000000000000000000000001% of confidence in the NCAA goes bye bye.

Higdon, Evans, Isaac, Johnson, Walker, Davis

...plus the true frosh.

Running backs? We got that.

I don't want to sound unpopular but I also echo the question about whether or not he would play. We have about 24 recruiting spots right now and seem intent on signing 30-32, if Drake comes back that would be one less spot in what would be a very crowded position. I'd love to see Jeremey Clark back though.

Totally agree. I mean, love my fellow PiHi/U of M alumni, and kudos to Drake for working on coming back strong from an major injury. If he's doing it to take advantage of the team atmosphere, the educational opportunities and the physical/medical rehab resources available to the football team then more power to him. But with Isaac, Evans, Higdon, Kareem Walker, Kingston Davis, Kurt Taylor, AJ Dillon, O'Maury Samuels etc, it seems unlikely he'll be a significant factor next year.  And then factor in the impact of the injury. Anyway, even though I doubt it makes on-field difference, good luck to him.

Gotta imagine both Drake and Isaac would be interested in grad transferring elsewhere to be the lead back, esp. if they're 3rd or 4th at best on the depth chart here.

He's had a lot of injuries, and it just seems like he needs to think long and hard about this going forward. Obviously the doctors know best and will give him sound advice. But you'd hate to have him try and come back only to tear up a knee again and be limping at age 30.

We lose Deveon, and honestly Najee Harris is a toss up. And hey somebody may transfer

So in the worst case you have at least 3 backs that are proven.

Seems like we wouldn't have room for him. Was there any truth to his family threatening a lawsuit ?

Considering that some thought he was the best RB going into this year...I don't know how all of a sudden he's just not going to play much.

Why would he come back or why would we use a scholarship for a 6th year senior who isn't going to play much?

I'm not saying he's going to start...but I don't see why he can't return to the role he had before the injury if he's healthy (which it sounds like he is now, but they don't want to play him unless it's an emergency).

we have, at minimum, three RBs coming in next season and are still hotly pursuing another. Of the four we've used this season, three will be back. I am not certain if Drake can play another position and I don't think he nor the team is thinking about using another year to have him learn a position. Best bet, imo, would be as OP stated, do the paperwork that entitles him to another year and then grant his transfer so if he does put up big numbers he'll be looked at by NFL personnel if that is his wish.
