Absolutely sad. Ken Daniels is by far and away (Red Wing Die-hard fan or not) my favorite play-by-play guy.

Prayers for Ken, one of the very best in the business.

Wow. Daniels is such a great announcer. I would gather they'll give him a long time to recover.

There is no amount of time to recover from something like this...unfathomable pain.

My best friend lost his sister when she was 17 and there really is nothing worse for a family to go through

Way too many deaths happening to people "in their sleep" these days. We have no idea about the circumstances of this poor child's or his family's situation, but that is often a euphemism for a drug overdose, usually opioids and/or benzodiazepines.

Unfortunately the numbers are pretty clear on this. Opioid overdoses have skyrocketed in recent years. Again, I have no idea about this particular boy's situation and my heart goes out to the family, but since MichWolve seemed to be curious about that kind of terminology, I mentioned it.

Jesus. That sucks. I love Ken Daniels. One of the great play-by-play announcers. Thoughts and prayers.

Agree with the rest about how great Ken Daniels is at his job. NHL app allows you to watch games for free from time to time. I made the mistake of watching a Caps game this week while listening to their announcers. Whoa buddy are we lucky. At one point their play by play guy actually said "the Caps are doing a fantastic job of protecting the so called home plate area this evening."
