Mork’s legal team’s response—he does not recall how Blackwell came to be at the “location depicted in the pictures”, nor how he came to appear in the photograph, but he knows he did not drive him there or authorize him to be there.

So clearly the next picture would have shown a confused and angry Mork stiff-arming Blackwell out of the “location depicted in the pictures.”

I hear ya.  Like he had no power as head coach to tell Blackwell, his employee, to leave?  I like how he is adamant once again.  I guess being "adamant" must make it true.  His lawyer's say this does nothing to his credibility...huh?  I think being proven that you lied or have such a poor memory must do something to your credibility.

No shame... probably learned it from the Vest.

As a graduate of MSU law (sigh), I feel compelled to comment on this.  I apologize for the length of this reply in advance.  However, to fully appreciate the ridiculousness of Dantonini's response one must examine his attorney's denial of perjury in full.

Full disclosure, I no longer practice law.  However, I remember a few things...  One thing is the smirk rule.  Don't make an argument if you can't do it without smirking.  It will backfire.  Regardless of whether or not perjury charges are pursued, this argument is so ludicrous I honestly can't believe they are making it.  I think it goes a long way in explaining MSU's continuing strategy of denial at all costs.  The fact that they are willing to make this argument suggests to me that the cesspool is as bad as could be imagined.  They are out of options and fully committed to lie, cheat, etc.  This is pure desperation.  What they are hiding could be worse than what we already assume is true...

So, here is the denial of perjury:

""Kienbaum responded Tuesday: "During his deposition, Dantonio was asked general questions about whether Blackwell would drive with him on recruiting visits in Detroit (occasionally, on visits to schools, but Blackwell would wait in the car), whether Blackwell would drive with other assistant coaches on recruiting visits (Dantonio didn’t know, but didn’t think so), and whether Blackwell would “ever go with [him] to visit any recruits at their homes?” (no). ...

In the context of the questioning, Dantonio was answering whether Blackwell drove with him when he went on home visits. Dantonio was not asked about any specific visit. Dantonio does not recall the particular 2015 visit Plaintiff identifies in his submission (Dantonio visited hundreds of recruits during his career). However, travel records reflect that neither Dantonio nor any of the other coaches present drove Blackwell there. While Dantonio does not recall Blackwell being at the location depicted in the pictures, or how Blackwell came to appear in the photograph, he is adamant that he did not drive him there or authorize him to be there.""

To paraphrase:

When Dantonio was asked if Blackwell would ever "go with him to visit any recruits at their homes" he said "no" because he thought they were talking about driving Blackwell there, or whether he authorized him to be there, not whether he was actually in the house with him.  He isn't sure how he materialized out of thin air in the photo, but he is sure he didn't drive him there.  If he was there, he didn't authorize him to be there.  Therefore, he wasn't lying when he said no...  He was simply answering a different, more contextually relevant question than the plain language would suggest.

To say this fails the smirk test is a huge understatement.  Also, Dantonio and his attorneys are basically admitting to the NCAA violation while trying to squirm away from the more serious perjury issue.  Fucking MSU, again, in doing so to save his sorry ass.

Will he go to jail for perjury?  Probably not.  Not material, etc...  Will MSU finally turn on him?  My guess is yes, but who knows?  Valenti is turning on him.  I suspect he has a good reason to do so and this is going to get worse for Danonini before it gets better...

That said, MSU and the cult are full on psycho at this point.  Completely pot-committed and all in on the lies.  A video of Dantonio cheering on a gang rape could surface and they would still deny it and defend their false god.  In my eyes, it has gone from funny to scary.  Everyone is completely delusional.  A sad story about human nature and the lengths people will go to protect their ego's when an institution they have tied their identity to runs amok.

i did take a peek at RCMB last night, couldn't resist.  there was a huge thread about how the photo was fake, photo shopped, with 'analysis' about how various people in the photo were out of proportion, feet weren't lined up, all sorts of horse pucky.  and they thought that Z sliding off the road was a way bigger scandal, too.

“He does not recall...”

Aaahhh...using the Meyer selective memory loss defense. I’m sure any electronic devices that date back to this occasion will conveniently have their storage wiped.

"Lawyers for Dantonio also said, 'While Dantonio does not recall Blackwell being at the location depicted in the pictures, or how Blackwell came to appear in the photograph, he is adamant that he did not drive (Blackwell) there or authorize (Blackwell) to be there.'"

wat.
