Dabo/Meyer rivalry heating up

Submitted by Human Torpedo on

Dabo told 5* Jackson Carman that Meyer was "on the back end of his career" in a negative recruiting pitch. It's amazing how much Clemson has been trolling OSU lately. I may be a little jealous of Clemson in that regard but it's refreshing to see them get a dose of their futility medicine knowing there's no on the field results they can point to against them to shut them up

I have to think that a fair number of coaches, especially coaches that probably compete within the same pools of recruits, do their best to make other programs seem like they are an episode of "Falcon Crest" that simply refused to end, replete with internal drama and supposed knowledge which turns out to be less than accurate.

I've never understood people getting worked up about negative recruiting.  Sure, don't lie and say "I hear Urban Meyer killed a bunch fo hookers" or something along those lines, but "this guy who seems to get burned out coaching at places might not be long at OSU" isn't the craziest thing to say.  It was like when James Franklin complained other teams were telling his recruits that PSU might get more sanctions as details kept coming out about Sandusky and Paterno.  Those aren't lies; things kept coming out pointing to more systemic issues.  Or when coaches pointed out that RR probably was on the hot seat; those turned out to be true.

But Urban Meyer strikes me as a huge hypocrite who will complain about anything, so seeing him get so worked up is hilarious and fitting.

when Saban retires in the next 3-5 years .... Dabo's going there.  Right?

Now, Urban may well not be in Columbus in 3-5 years.  But I tend to think Columbus will be the last stop on his coaching train.  Once he leaves Columbus, he's probably done coaching period.

I hate OSU as much as the next guy, but there was nothing fluky about it.  They beat Alabama straight up, with a 3rd string QB, then dominated Oregon in the trenches.  There were no lucky breaks or bad ref calls like we are used to.  They flat out won it against the odds.

I am more shocked by Georgia's class. Look at it. Like SEVEN 5 stars? WTF!

Kirby on the sh!t list. Need to schedule games with them and beat them and steal their recruits. Everyone and their mom going to Georgia now.

OSU recruits a top 5 class every year. The problem is if 5 star entitled athletes aren’t kept in check they get lazy and get there ass beat in Iowa. With Meyers classes he should be in the National Championship every year, with no excuses but he is not. The guy is a used car salesman......f em
