I really don't like that the first highlight shows him getting run over. Boom. Is that #32 blasting him to the ground? Hopkins? I'm not sure about the numbers these guys are wearing, 'cause I know they were having the scout team wear the UConn numbers... Are we going to be happy or sad if Moundros starts over Obi?

After watching those three seconds about 30 times, I'm pretty sure that's Fitz. The first number is 2, so it's either #20 Shaw or #28 Fitz. Seeing as there was some power behind that, I'd guess Fitz. But to be fair, Moundros did hit em pretty well, he just didn't wrap up

I'm no coach, but in the two plays I saw he was the first backer to quickly fill the ball carrier's hole and stopped him (though someone else cleaned up with the tackle) and in the other he put the carrier on his backside behind the line with a good wrap-up tackle.  So I was actually encouraged by these.

I'm a glass half-full kind of guy and was encouraged as well.  He has only been on the defensive side for a few months.   I think his instincts are more important than his tackling (obviously the tackling can be learned and learned quickly - instincts not so much.)

I'm pretty sure as the season approaches (I'm guessing this was filmed yesterday and Tuesday), that both the team and the video crew have less and less time to get this stuff done. Also, I'm sure they're spending a lot of practice time on game specific stuff now, and Rodriguez told them they can't show any of it.

Interesting notes: I did not know that they practiced touching the banner, and I liked the level of intensity of the D. He really came through the line to attack on that Tate handoff.

Big House dedication video from the 1930's? Can you imagine if everyone showed up to games in a suit and tie today? That struck me as strange. Talk about a different time, that was back when you got dressed up for travel as well... The other thing that I thought was very strange is that the uniforms for both teams looked exactly the same. No wonder they painted stripes on our helmets. I couldn't tell what the hell was going on, or who was on what team.

any chance we actually meet up in the parking lot this year? I'm pretty sure we park in the same place for every game, yet we never cross paths... I've got some beer and an expertly cooked brat (l learned the perfect technique from a Wisconsinite) for you. Come and find me. If you are just pulling into the property, look to the right. There will be a willow tree about 2/3rds of the way down near the front. I will be grilling there for 3 hours before the start of the game. Go Blue!

I'm not sure which games I'll get to, but I definitely want to. I had a poster last year that said, "MGoBlog", but the wind whipped up so much both games I went to that it ripped it to shreds.

I usually park right out by the road. Purple/Brown Taurus. Last year, I met some other guys right under the willow and we played corn hole and ate dogs.

I went to college in the South, in the 1980s, and it was coat and tie for the games then.  We ladies put on hose and dresses.  I never wore jeans on a football Saturday.

Of course, we never watched the games, either.  Just walked around and tailgated in our nice clothes.

No idea what the current state of affairs is.
