CONGRATS, MICHIGAN GRADS!!

Submitted by You Only Live Twice on May 2nd, 2019 at 10:28 PM

Surprised no one has posted anything yet.  Even though the Big House event is not until Saturday, individual schools have been having their own events all week.

Let's take a moment to congratulate all the new Michigan grads, undergrad or graduate.  If you are one: Lots of WOOOO!!!!!  to you.  Best wishes as you embark on the next chapter of your life.  You will look back on your time at Michigan again and again.

My kid is among the undergrads, so I've had a tendency to get weepy at odd times for no reason this week.  How about you, the MGoCommunity?  Graduating? Hopeful future Wolverine? Family member of?  Or looking back to the same events in your life?

i work in downtown aa, and it’s been really cool seeing all the graduates walking around with their families. also makes me think back to my graduation in 2002, which was totally bittersweet. i remember looking forward to something new, but was pretty bummed that most of my friends were moving away.

go blue, and congrats grads!

Daughter just graduated from Kinesiology.  Athletic training.  Amazing experience.   And I think I enjoyed it just as much!!

No one really understands the work load those trainers carry.  Full class load and they work 30-50 hours a week if a team is in season ( also a lot of travel).  Go Blue to the best ATCs in the country!

congrats to the 'kids' who are having their day today.

as for being the greatest university in the world, i'll leave james earl jones and one of the all-time great hype videos in the world right....here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqoJmSF235E

if you can't get up for 'this    is     michigan!', well, you might be as dead as the night king.

Thank you! Side note, if anyone here knows of a human resources-related position in the GR area, I wouldn't be opposed to hearing more about it...

Ah yes. Gets me excited thinking about my little 9 year old, 4th grade grandson...thinking about whether to do his undergrad at my alma mater, Goshen College, or go straight to Michigan. He says it will be Michigan for his Masters and PhD...wants to be an engineer. He's a bright little whipper-snapper. It's a win-win thing for him.

Michigan is the school so nice that I graduated twice.

No, I don't use that line at parties.

In all seriousness, congratulations to the newest batch of Wolverines.

Graduation was one of the happiest days of my life. When MSC said (something like) - "College of Engineering, stand up and be recognized" it was an enormous moment of relief and satisfaction for 4 hard years. Congrats to all of you about to cross the same finish line. It's no small accomplishment

No doubt that going to Michigan changed my life. An important concept here is "commencement." College is fun but preliminary. The real shit starts now.  (Realizing that, perhaps, I immediately signed up for more school.)

My oldest son is a Michigan grad, next kid in line is a HS senior who . . . chose Oberlin over Michigan.  Oh well!  Much as I would have liked to continue the Michigan pipeline, I have to admit Oberlin is a better fit for him -- despite requiring us to travel to the Worst State Ever to visit him.

Congratulations to all the new graduates!  My son just got home from a two-day trek Wednesday after finishing his freshman year.  I’m looking forward to having him around for a little while.
