Completely OT - Video Gamers PS4 MGo Destiny?

Submitted by clarkiefromcanada on

Hello,

While I am probably fitting in the more elderly wing of the blog demographics I maintain an interest in the video gaming. Original PS1 owner, yo.

Anyway, I picked up Destiny for PS4 around Christmas and it maintains my interest still. I play a few times a week but never quite always with the right kind of cool people. I realized there was a place I could go to ask about cool people and video games...

Anyway, there is an update coming in the next few weeks and I was curious if there are any of you in the MGoCommunity who want to join up for some Destiny.

MGo PS4 users can add me: clarkie9191

XBox users, well, sorry.

Mods, thanks.

I'm on Xbox. But I played destiny a lot for quite a few months, have a maxed out character of each type, and then realized you do the same damn thing over and over again and it's not even fun. Also they aren't coming out with a new raid in the House of Wolves expansion that they scammed everyone into buying along with the first expansion. I will probably never play that game again. It feels more like a chore than fun when I play it. Borderlands, and Halo Masterchief Collection is where it's at for me right now.

If you get a good group to raid with, they can be fun to play for a little while. But once you get all of the raid gear and raid weapons, there's really nothing else to play for in the game and all of the fun disappears. That's what happened for me atleast. But killing Atheon and Crota for the first times was pretty thrilling. Good luck finding some fun people to play with.

I will not admit how many hours of gameplay me and my friends put into that game, but it was more than a lot. When you get to the point where you have every exotic, all of the raid materials, and everything maxed out with hundreds of materials and nothing left to spend them on, there's nothing more to grind to enjoy. Yes, I had a problem haha

Destiny is the epitome of what is wrong with the video game industry nowadays...sigh.

I miss the old days.

I'm a PC gamer now, so can't partake unfortunately.

I was going to post pretty much exactly this but you beat me to the punch. $500 million and the best Bungie can come up with is a boring grind-y MMO shooter where they copy and paste the same mission over an over again. Meanwhile indie developers on Steam make games ten times more fun fir a tiny fraction of the cost.

Add me!!! Payne0707

I have step 2 for boards coming up so I won't be on as much, but I have a nice little base of RL friends you can meet and get to know.

Thanks, I am hoping that is the case. Finishing up Peds/Family right now to round out 3rd year. But Step 2 in June, Surgery Sub-I's for July/August, then after that I get a nice break with some random ambulatory stuff. It has been a long road that is for sure.

Hopefully I can swindle my way back to A2!!

The graphical settings you can play with on the PC version for GTAV allow me to pretty much max out the GTX980 which is hard to do. It looks amazing. The only thing that still looks a little weird is how cars sit on the road. Kind of like they're floating from afar.

I quit playing Destiny just after Christmas.  I really enjoyed it for awhile, but just couldn't keep up with the grind and the Dark Below expansion didn't sit well with me.

Had a blast playing destiny for like three or four months but dropped off after the grind got to be too much. If I'm on, look for ramenboy7373.

I also picked up on Christmas and play regularly. Too much sometimes. Although the wife never complains. Xbox users add me, OldazzNinjaman. Hate the user name. Wished I had the foresight to make it smaller and more clever. Edit. Just jumped on now

If any fellow M Go Gaurdians are on XBL feel free to add me GT: Colonel Wacko. I'm certain it would be a welcome break from my usual staee friends that I play with.

I have Destiny for PS4 and like you, have just started playing and also from an "elderly demographic."  Well I guess if you call early 30's elderly.  Anyhoo you are welcome to add me.

I haven't played much Destiny since I got it, the grindyness bored me pretty quickly.  Been playing Bloodborne recently, but tbh, I've had no time to play much of anything the last month or so.  Being an adult sucks.

Anyway, PSN name Tuba1060.  Feel free to add me.

Wait, does having owned a PS1 make you an elderly gamer at this point? I still have my N64 working and used to own a NES system as well. Well technically my dad bought the NES cause I was a kid then but still, I played it. OMG am I having an old moment?

Personally thought it was amazingly boring.  I play a ton of games and have for a long time and I'd be hard pressed to name another game I've purchased recently that I thought was more boring.  Granted I generally do a lot of research and usually only buy the best games, but I thought Destiny was one of the biggest letdowns in recent memory.

It was basically like someone took Borderlands and sucked out all of the fun.

A few of my friends and I who just graduated have been avid Destiny players since around Christmas. I'm out of the country until the day before House of Wolves comes out, so I'm looking forward to that release after seeing the recent reveals. We usually cover all of the in-game activities, so we'd certainly welcome more fellow Wolverines on there. Feel free to add me at Fuego_Del_Oso for when I'm back! My friends and I also made a group called Wolverine Destiny on there. Anyone is welcome to join that as well.

BioDIEPsel is my brother and occasionally me. Anyone with "DIEP" in their names are people I play with.

Make sure you yell lots of GO BLUE! and anti-Spartan crap when you find them because they're all Sparties.
