The linked article compares the likely role for Uche on the Patriots to that of Demario Davis on the New Orleans Saints and how New England used Kyle Van Noy.

Some statements in the article echo some laments on this Message Board regarding the limited use of Uche's talents by Michigan.

"Michigan never really figured out how to use Josh Uche."

"Allow me to go more into Uche’s college snap counts because it is absolutely ridiculous how little he was used. Uche played 470 of Michigan’s 846 defensive snaps in 2019. That is 55.6 percent of snaps, despite being the team leader in sacks, tackles for loss, and forced fumbles."

Nothing is truly more informed than stat picking without having any context as to why that stat exists in the first place.  Truly an insightful comment that absolutely seems to be made with GREAT knowledge of Michigan's defensive scheme and perhaps the reasons WHY Uche was as effective as he was.  But I am also not a Patriots fan site author who probably knows less than Jack Shit about college sports.

I wish Uche great success in the pro's(hopefully with a team besides the f'ing Patriots), but this article just makes me confirm my priors about how unpleasant Patriots fandom is.

Harbaugh and Brown are very good at believing their systems, which havent produced any real results, are important than properly utilizing elite talent

You mean that same Van Noy that the Lions traded for a bag of marbles and pack of smokes? /s

I take the author's Michigan remarks as an attempt to over-sell the article. I also see it though as quite complementary of Uche's talents and hope he can and will turn into this type of LB that NE uses in their system.

There are criticisms to be made but this one is pretty tired.

What are people even arguing about, 100 snaps? Many teams rotate edge guys and Michigan had five or six blowout wins.

I personally thought he was utilized pretty well...I know we've all been disappointed in Donny Brown during certain big games but he always seemed to put Josh in the best position to make a play...
