Brinksmanship! That means now I can haz Rutgers v. Texas State!

Seriously though I never got around to getting Dish like I said I was, and SMU is on BTN, so...

Nice, they held out til a week before the season or less than a week. There are so very few things they actually make money on these days they go giddy over the one thing they know for sure will draw eyeballs.

Also, this is a typical negotiation dance done all the time.  Same thing happens with other cable channels on how they will be distributed on DTV, Cox, Charter, etc.  Yawn.

This reminds me of what happened to me just yesterday. I don’t watch much TV other than live sports but the Cardinals vs Cowboys preseason game was showing on my local NBC the other night so I go to tune in and I see the channel is unavailable. I look up why and my local NBC station is in a pricing dispute with Directv with no end in sight. NBC as you know, is the station playing the Michigan game this Saturday because of their rights to Notre Dame games.

I tell you you I started FREAKING OUT!!

but then I called directv and they are overnighting a device to hook up to my box so I can watch the local channels plus they are giving me $55(!) off a month for the next year, effectively cutting my bill in half.

If you live in Utah and have Directv, call them NOW to get the device needed to watch this Saturdays game!!

We like to scoff at the BTN, but it's a godsend during basketball season.  I was able to see every single MBB Big Ten game last season, and every (meaningful) OOC game because of the BTN filling in all of the gaps.

Comcast offers all of the BTN overflow channels as well.

I'm glad this happened.
