Similar to the predicament now facing Nebraska, we are seeing one of the risks play out of hiring a “favorite son” to resurrect a storied program. If for whatever reason it doesn’t work out the “divorce” is more painful and difficult to carry out, and the tendency is to “give him one more year.”

Harbaugh is lazy, period. If he actually took time to develop his players, he'd have a real team. Even worse, he's a QB killer. If my son was a high school quarterback that wanted to play for Michigan, I'd tell him that's where QBs go to fail.

If I could get $7M to provide mediocre coaching and recruiting that was worth about 1/5th of that amount I'd want to coach next year too.
