Congrats Club Team!
Was hoping it was the women's club hockey team honestly. But no matter- Go Blue!
Go Blue!
Hail to the Victors!
Go Blue!
Shout out to a family friend on the team Defenseman Tej Kohtari !!! Way to go !!!
My son's roommate is on the team as well. He is friends with a number of the guys. Pretty cool that they won. Hope beat them last year in the final. So a little redemption.
Bingo-bango! Go blue!

I was an undergrad in the 90s. There was a club team. Googled it to confirm and found this: http://websites.umich.edu/~clubhcky/history/history.html
They were (are?) really good from a non-varsity/amateur perspective. I lettered in HS but didn't make the club.
awesome - i tried out as a goalie in 2001 and didn't make it past first cuts - fun times!
I work at Hope College and played for Hope’s team a while ago. They’ve been on quite a run, but if it had to end to anybody, I’m glad it was Michigan’s D3 club team. I believe Hope’s team is going to play at the D3 level next year, and then is moving up to D1 the following season.
Any clue why Michigan club would compete in D3?
The typical differentiator between the ACHA levels is funding.
I could be wrong, but I think Michigan has a D3 and a D2 club hockey team. They used to have 2 different club teams anyway.
The American Club Hockey Association (ACHA) has D3, D2, and D1 leagues, and some larger universities have teams in multiple leagues. Calvin College (now University) has teams in D3 and D1. Depends on funding and availability of bodies/talent. The ACHA is a pretty competitive level of hockey, though, especially because funding makes it difficult to do NCAA hockey programs at any other levels that D1.
It seems like I heard many years ago that if you have a D1 varsity team, you can't also have a D1 club team. No idea if it is true now, and I might be wrong anyway, but it seems like the two don't overlap.
I think they don't want club teams serving as de facto Junior Varsity teams.

Congrats to the fellas! What a great memory to make. If you have a chance, donate to help defray their costs.
My son played a couple of years in 2012-13 and had a blast.
