Christopher Nolan: “Tenet” Trailer
Can't wait, love his movies. Well, except that third Batman one. I couldn't understand a word Bain said.
There were many, many problems with that flick. Still good, but very disappointing.
I’m the opposite. Loved Dark Knight Rises and Hardy as Bane. That trilogy was well done but ‘89 Batman remains my favorite.
Christopher Nolan shits gold.
Also the lead actor was great in Blackkklansman. If you haven’t seen it, very much recommend.
He was also amazing in Ballers as Ricky Jerret. Never knew it was Denzel's son. What a talented family.
Didn’t he play running back in college too, or was that a different Denzel son?
Played at Morehouse if my memory serves me correctly.
Sidenote, he sounds just like his dad. How can you not know it's Denzel's son? Such a unique voice and laugh.
John David Washington is Denzel's son and is turning out to be a very good actor. He played football at Morehouse, but being only 5'9 and running a 4.7 40 isn't good. He was on the Rams roster as a UDFA in 2006 and spent 4 years in the USFL before going into acting full time.
This movie is actually going to theaters?
My thoughts exactly ... coming to a theater near me ... where? When? 2021?
I want to watch this in the theater badly. Maybe I can get an entire auditorium to myself :)
Yes. Christopher Nolan is adamantly opposed to both pushing the opening date back as well as having Tenet skip theaters. Warner Brothers said "yes, sir."
Apparently is hoping that it will persuade viewers to take a chance and view it in person.
I like his movies a lot, but that's ridiculous.
Honestly, out of all places to go, a movie theater is probably not the worst place to go during COVID. Wear a mask. Go a few weeks after it comes out. Go on an off day at an off time and you'll be fine
wear gloves and bring something to wipe down your chair and the chairs next to you just to be safe.
Its not like it'll be packed. Actually sounds like a lot of fun.
I just read a news article saying that WB may not remain committed to the July 17 release date. If East and West Coast theaters remain closed or are open at a greatly reduced capacity, they might push it back. If they decide to do that, how far is anybody’s guess.
I noticed that the first trailer I saw said that Tenet opens on July 17. This one simply says Coming to Theaters. So I am buying the notion that we don’t know when we will see it. It’s a huge movie, though. I doubt WB will ever dump it straight to streaming.
I have been a huge fan of Nolan since Memento and very much want to see this on a big screen.
They'll push it back, I'd guess to August just to give the east coast more time to open
Guys having karate fights in tight suits is a movie trope that needs to go. All else looks good.
Jujitsu cool though?
Should have had Calvin Johnson in lead role and called it Reception
The story of how Matt Stafford threw it 90 feet over his head and made him look good.
John David Washington was one of the few reasons to watch Ballers. He is on a path to being a big time actor.
Nolan's a beast.
Inception. Interstellar. Batman. Dunkirk. The dude cannot make a bad movie.
Interstellar is one of my favorite movies of all time. Some people just have it. He's got it.
Don't forget Memento, his first and arguably his best. I would agree that he's one hell of a filmmaker.
Don't forget Memento and The Prestige
I'll agree on Inception and Interstellar - they were awesome. I never saw his Batman and Dunkirk I thought was good but overrated. For British war movies 1917 is superior. Still, Nolan. Yeah, he's good.
You never saw any of the Batman trilogy??? Dark Knight was sooo good. Heather Ledger's Joker is literally one of the best acting performances I've ever seen
Definitely. I still find myself rewatching interstellar the most for some reason.
Christopher Nolan is a great director with some major hits. But let’s not pretend he is the best, or close to it. He’s a director people name as great when someone knows a bit about movies, but not much.
Waaaaiiiiiit a second....original ideas still exist?!
Disagree on Nolan. He's all brain, no soul. His movies are heartless slogs.
Entitled to your opinion I guess. He's my favorite Director, hands down. Interstellar and Inception are top 5 movies for me.
I'm convinced that anyone who doesn't like Nolan either
1) Is a contrarian who dislikes him just because everyone else likes him
2) Doesn't understand his movies/thinks his movies are too complicated and feigns dislike in order to not appear unintelligent
A lot of his movies have glaring plot holes and ham-fisted writing. With that said, he's one of the only working directors right now where you can walk into the movie with at least a modicum of hope that you are going to see something fresh and original. He's better than his peers in the "big budget epic" space but that's a really low bar.
I wouldn't call them heartless but his movies have gotten a lot worse over time as the budgets have gotten bigger.
Still not entirely sure what this movie is about, but I'm super intrigued by it. Seems similar to Inception, but with time instead of dreams.
The quote "Doesn't us being here now mean it never happened" means we're in for another mind fuck of a movie like Interstellar and Inception
Looks like a mixture of Memento, Insomnia, The Prestige, Batman Begins, Inception, Interstellar and Dunkirk. But at least we know that where Christopher Nolan goes, Michael Caine is sure to follow.
I wonder whether the character played by Himesh Patel has to tattoo lyrics of Beatles’ songs on his body in order to regain his memories.
This looks original, doesn’t look good. Looks way too mainstream and action packed. I will give it a chance though, probably when it comes to Netflix in 2 years.
