Evans is an awesome change of pace to have. I would love to see us use Evans like how the enemy uses JK Dobbins.

Very excited about the stable of backs for next year--Haskins, Zach, Evans and maybe even Corum.

I think people saying he has no role next year are way off base. His elusiveness in space and passing catching ability can certainly be used in next year's RB rotation. RB is looking stacked next year.

Charbonnet caught a swing pass against Iowa on a play where everyone but the safety was blocked.  Great play call by Gattis, getting the RB in an ocean of space 1-on-1.  Now the Iowa safety made a fantastic play bringing him down for a two yard (or so) gain, but that play was made for Evans.  He jukes that safety and gets the first down easy, and maybe a lot more.

Is he allowed to start work outs at the facilities now, under the direction of Ben Herbert, while waiting to play next year?

None of our current backs have made a big impact in the passing game.  Dunno if that is due to the backs or due to Patterson not being good with screen passes.

Anyway, Evans is good out of the backfield as a receiver.  Even if Chabonnet/Haskins take a lot of the running snaps, he would be a solid 3rd down back.  And obviously, he will have the chance in practice to move up in the pecking order.

I think we all agree the offensive side of the ball didn’t meet expectations and needs work, so why add another complicated piece to it like a RB with no 2019 game experience? Hoping we see a repeat of the ND running gameplan against MSU, IU and OSU. Then again, adding Evans could add the spark to sync things up and kick this Harbaugh/Gattis hybrid offense into high gear
