fuckity fuck, what a bummer.

i really think he has a shot at a career as a elite perimeter defender...i'm hoping he'll have a full, speedy recovery.

For those who don't know about Edmond Sumner (referenced in the ESPN article), he was drafted at the end of the 2nd round in the 2017 NBA draft by the Pacers even though he was injured with an ACL.  He signed a Two Way contract for 2 years, with the Pacers knowing he wasn't going to contribute much to either team his first season.  He got healthy and played well enough the Pacers eventually signed to a regular contract during the season.

The same scenario could happen for Matthews, and it sounds like he's willing to take that route.  So he may still be drafted.
