Can't Sleep, Want this win so bad for the team and Harbaugh

Submitted by Bo Harbaugh on November 30th, 2019 at 1:22 AM

I love this team and how they fought back from a difficult start to the season.  So proud of the coaching and the players to stay together and figure it out.  I hate that the narrative of Harbaugh not winning the B1G, can't get over the hump, etc will continue no matter what happens tomorrow.  But so many people fail to acknowledge the 2016 robbery in Columbus and the fact that Jim has turned this program around to near elite status, unfortunately at a time when the OSU program is as powerful as it has ever been.

A win tomorrow can help change the momentum of our program.  Jim was willing to change the offense in the off season, they were willing to play more coverages on defense. The players have worked and deserve a victory.  The fanbase has been kicked in the balls too many times over the past 2 decades in close losses.

I can't sleep, just hoping we can finally pull one of these off and shut off all the negativity and bs about Harbaugh and the program.

I love this team

You might love them too much.

The players have worked and deserve a victory.

You don't know who deserves what.

I can't sleep

Melatonin helps. Turkey too.

I want Michigan to win too. It would be Michigan's biggest win since the National Championship in 1997. But I'm going to sleep good tonight and not worry about what will happen if they lose. I have to be back to work on Monday. And I want to be refreshed and rested. I don't want to be suffering at work because I didn't rest enough. I'm not going to worry and keep myself up over my favorite team of all time, the winged helmet. I'm at the age where day in and day out life is more important.

If they lose it will be because of the shortcomings I see in a couple of the coaches. If they win, it will be because Jim Harbaugh is Captain Comeback, and will be spreading his fire into everybody's game, coaches and players.

Either way, go to sleep. You will feel better watching the game if you're rested.

You're attempting to tell a fan to pump the brakes on his positivity for some unknown reason, or at least stymie their excitement.

It's the wee hours of the morning before the biggest game of the season.

Your first paragraph says how you're not going to miss rest on Friday night because of energy you'll need Monday over an game, but yet you're here at 2:41am missing it over a blog comment.

Can you elaborate on when a fan is supposed to get excited, as oppose to simmer themselves down?

I think I can sleep well tonight for a few reasons.

1. The hoops program is way ahead of schedule and playing like a 1-seed. This season has gone from intriguing to championship-caliber over the course of the first few weeks. They will be lots of fun to support this year.

2. On the football side of things, Harbaugh made a bold and selfless decision this offseason to turn over the offense to Josh Gattis. It took a while and probably cost us some hardware, but that decision has paid off in the second half of this season. There is a lot to play for and I'm thankful for that.

3. One game tomorrow doesn't undo the strides that Jim and the program are making. Tom Osborne lost his first five to Oklahoma. Regardless of the final score, I know I'll feel a lot more secure about the future of Michigan football tomorrow afternoon than I did last year after the OSU debacle.

How will you feel if OSU hangs over 50 on Michigan? OSU returns Fields and a lot of players, and has a top-four recruiting class entering next season. On top of that, The Game is in Columbus next year. Do you really feel a lot more secure about the future of UM football regardless of the final score?!

The pay off in the second half of the season was Harbaugh putting his stamp back on the offense along with Warinner having time to reteach the OL how to block for the new offense.  The offense was largely fine last year, what it needed was some decisiveness and giddy up and go.  As in, get the play in and run it instead of waiting until the play clock gets to one before snapping the ball.  Moreover, 39 points should be winning football games, admittedly a bit hard to do when the D is giving up 62 points.

Bottom line, the 2018 Michigan offense was one of Harbaugh's most productive offenses during his tenure, while the defense was the most porous.

You left out a part of the offense that was missing - the pass game.  It was stuck in yesterday's NFL roots.  We thought it was fresh, complex, devastating...  Well, it turned out to be too complex, and too slow, for the college game.  It didn't scare anyone.  And it is the biggest part of the offense that everyone wanted changed.

I doubt the changeover cost any hardware.  Last years offense wasn't going to win anything, as was proven last year.

I am with you, not only would we end the streak against OSU but a win likely makes us the highest two loss team and clinches the rose bowl. Wisconsin will have three losses. It’ll come down to a two loss Minny and two loss Penn State with the h2h but only one top 25 win.

Same here.  I just had the stupidest dream I've ever remembered, my brain was finally like "you're a Michigan grad for God's sake, snap out of it." The normal anxiety around this game only gets intensified by Thanksgiving leftovers.  I'll try again, good night, go blue!!

Aw, you've been triggered. I'm sorry our superiority did that to you. Perhaps you should return to your safe space to engage in word searches to find the "M" to cross out. My 7 year-old could also use a play date if that interests you.

Yeah, would have been tough his first three years, since they were spent in a Chinese orphanage. Rejected by his family for a cosmetic physical defect. And I disclose this with great self-loathing since I suspect a story of rejection and salvation would only trigger you again.

Frank, truly, it's not your fault. Believe that.

I’m up and getting ready to head to the game. I’m going there fully at peace with getting beat and we probably will. Not being negative just realistic.

Way back in 1971 I remember hearing the new Carly Simon song being played over and over and over all week in Ann Arbor before The Big Game.

I can hear that song —“Anticipation”—right now like it was yesterday....

We won 10-7 and Woody got 30 yards of penalties after

Thom Darden sealed the win with a late game-saving interception.

Woody stormed the field and tore up the first down marker in a fit of wild, screaming rage....

ANTICIPATION!,,,,,...

God it was GREAT FUN in The Big House that day!

And now— it is time to get ready for THE greatest day of the year because....

’These Are The Good Old Days’.....

GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
