Didn't see this already. Former 4 star, only saw the field twice this season.

I'm pretty dumb myself, but I was able to follow the instructions in the FAQS. I recommend checking them out for future posts. This place is weird, because people here have standards when it comes to things like grammar and posting properly. I get annoyed that so many people get hung up on it, but it's just one more thing that separates us from the animals I guess. GO BLUE bring home that trophy!

Edit: I guess I don't know where the instructions are anymore. I need an adult! See I am pretty dumb.

I support player's right to transfer, especially players who don't see a path to playing time at their current school.

But man... you're announcing your transfer just over 24 hours before your old team takes the field in the national championship game?  You really didn't want to support all the guys you spent the last year training and playing with one more time?  I don't get that.

How big are bowl rosters?  Would he have travelled with the team?

He entered the portal prior to the Rose Bowl but was with the team and at practices.  He (or his Mom) came out and noted that the timing of the portal etc. led to his decision to announce but that he still was involved and supporting the team.

I think is saw on the MSU boards that the deadline for transfers to enroll for this semester for State was tomorrow = waiting until after the NC would be too late for many schools.

TLDR — kid had to do this now in order to get a winter semester opportunity at a new school

Yeah, if people have an issue with guys announcing their departures take it up with the calendar the NCAA has set up such that the transfer windows and games are screwy.

It's going to be even worse next year when you've got 12 teams in the playoffs and a lot of those guys looking to move around.

He entered the portal in December and I'm certain there was no ill intent from Calhoun.

I'm also certain there was ill intent from the NCAA sending the NOA on the national signing day.

One's coincidental, and the other is deliberate.  Big difference.  Wish him well.

Hypothetically speaking...how much could he have sold a National Championship ring for on Tuesday morning if Michigan we were to win.  I'd guess north of 25k. Maybe 50k.  I'd bet there's a rich Michigan fan like Portnoy who'd give him 100k for it.

Had no clue he was in the portal tbh. Leaving a team on a national title run as a freshman who wasn't a blue chip is absolutely wild to me, but go off I guess Cam. Those who stay.

I feel like Calhoun will be a star at the college level.  I really wish he stayed at Michigan, because talented depth is always needed at Michigan with the AD not participating in NIL the way others are.  Harbaugh and staff found a potential gem in Calhoun, and Utah will see it first-hand.
