BTT: Northwestern vs. Rutgers

Submitted by S5R48S10 on
Rutgers just scored, ending a 31-0 run over 17 minutes by Northwestern. The Wildcats are pushing hard for that NCAA bid. Currently up 25. On a lighter note, this Rutgers team beat the Buckeyes last night!

31-0 run jesus. Gives me flashbacks of when something similar happened to us last year.. or was it 2 years ago?

I don't have photographic memory like some of you but I think somewhere in my memory is an Amaker squad that played at Duke and something very bad (not to THAT extreme) happened right to start the game. OSU was clearly Rutgers national championship game.

I remember the smugness of Oakland fans well after that game. I was also at Crisler during year one of Ellerbe, the week after we beat #1 Duke, where we lost to Eastern in OT. And because it was Christmas break, my dad and I were the only Michigan fans in the upper bowl, completely surrounded by EMU fans taunting us. Dear GOD...I'm thinking about the Ellerbe era. I need help.

One night after ending OSUs basketball season, Rutgers danced on the Buckeyes graves by equaling the 31-0 run the Bucks allowed during their last FOOTBALL game. Truly, Rutgers is trolling the Bucks!

In other news, we're now #24 on KenPom, which I believe is our highest ranking in this calendar year (we were probably higher in November, I forget).

We're up to #5 in offensive efficiency and #80 in defense.  Our biggest weakness is "luck" (#304 nationally).

Michigan reached #15 by the time they played South Carolina (coming off of the SMU win).  Of course, there's a lot more data feeding the system than there was then.  :-)

#24 is the highest rating since that game (at least, on a game day -- I don't know of a way to find historical information for non game days).

all of the scores today we're blow outs interestingly. I don't think any of the other tournaments had quite the same type of disparity.

As her son, Charlie Hall, a walk-on, gets to play in a tournament game. Hope Brian was watching, given his excitement at her attending the Michigan-Northwestern game. :)
