Per Twitter and Sam Webb this AM,  Al and Mike Martin will be doing a Wednesday evening show on WTKA during football season.  (I would love to listen to this if the MgoBlogosphere were to call in to the show.)

This thread begs to be turned into a proper neg-bang.  I'll start:

Al Borges is the greatest offensive mind to grace Schembechler Hall since the turn of the century.

I met Al Borges' niece at a bar in Austin. She was super hot, and struck up a conversation with me based on my Michigan hat. She started talking about how her uncle used to work for the program, and I was super engaged with the conversation, until she mentioned it was Al Borges.

It was so hard to hide my disappointment.

I mean, if Matt Millen got paid actual money to talk about football on TV after being the worst GM in NFL history, and Colin and Skip get millions for barfing out the most ridiculous nonsensical hot takes, then I guess it makes sense they'd pay Gorgeous for it too?

Hawt take of the day: as maligned as Borges was, and with good reason, I’d say he was still a better coordinator than Drevno or Pep. How depressing is that?

I never understood the hate that Al got. His awkward personality and lack of recruiting chops make him an easy candidate for fall guy when things go south, but he was a pretty good OC. Put him under Harbaugh and he would have thrived. At every place where he was shown the door (UCLA, Auburn, Michigan), the offense promptly fell off a cliff upon his departure. Al wasn't the problem, Hoke was.
