Blake Corum is PFFs highest rated player at any position

"Corum is considered among many as one of the top Heisman contenders and leads all FBS running backs in rushing first downs. The elite RB is leading in touchdowns and points scored, and his 1,187 yards is good enough for No. 4 in the nation. In the Week 9 win over Michigan State, Corum also surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season."

Certainly that's a typo, right? I think what you meant was "Blake Corum *projected* to be the highest rated player at any position following his completion of the 2023 season at the University of Michigan."

That Blake Corum guy does seem pretty god, yeah...

Our guy, who is name is Blonk Corden and also wears #2, is certainly not as good as that guy. Certainly not good enough to go to the NFL next year.

Henry rushed for 2219 yards in his Heisman year on 395 carries through 15 games in a season that Bama won a national championship.  He had 3 NFL lineman to run behind but a QB that wasn't even drafted.  So, he was absolutely carrying the load at a clip of 26 carries / game.

Corum is awesome, but Henry's 2015 season was fantastic.  Right now, Blake has 1187 yards on about half the carries (199) or 22 / game.

Blake can do some things that Derrick cannot, like make players completely whiff in space, while still being able to run violently like Derrick.  However, I wouldn't put Blake's year ahead of Henry just yet, but I hope that we all will after the next 6 games.

I hope the NFL scouts say he's too short for the NFL (a la Mike Hart) so he will stay forrrrrrrr ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever...(repeat to infinite)

Corum is the best RB and should be the Heisman favorite based solely on his consistent production and mistake free play, in an otherwise up and down year for other candidates.

That being said, PFF's offensive line rankings are suspect (note they had Michigan ranked lower than MSU) and they have been consistently ranking our RBs high to compensate for the net positivity of our running game. I don't give this ranking much credence due to the attribution of positives to RB v. OL, but Corum still deserves credit for picking the right gaps, driving through defenders, blocking and generally doing RB things exceptionally well.

All praises to Corum, but PFF has him leading over Cincinnati DL/name of the year candidate Dontay Corleone. That seems, uh, dangerous to have anyone but the Don win the Heisman.
