but so were JoePa and BoB when they were hired. The dude can flat out coach. Imagine what he can do with the athletes PSU can get.
January 2nd, 2014 at 1:16 PM ^
I think he'd fit in well at PSU. knows the recruiting area etc.
January 2nd, 2014 at 1:30 PM ^
I agree. Plus Narduzzi with his new pay raise still doesn't make over 600,000 I believe. PSU could lock him up for 2 or 3 million a year for the next 4 or 5 years. I bet Narduzzi would do it.

Wouldn't that be so awesome? And I'm willing to bet the house that Narduzzi would take it. He'd be an idiot not to. Perfect timing too.

He also has deep Midwestern roots. He can recruit Ohio well. He coaches the type of football PSU wants.(MANBALL!!)
PSU needs a guy who will be there awhile. There is no such guarantees with a Franklin. PSU would be a destination spot for Narduzzi.

Bill O'Brien was the best candidate they could've realistically gotten at that time... this is a much more attractive job today.

I hope he takes Borges as his coordinator. Funk can get swayze too.

I wonder if Hackenberg is pissed
December 31st, 2013 at 10:40 PM ^
Good. Hopefully they suffer from this.

You are a douche. Explain to me what any existing member of the PSU football team has to do with the sh*t storm that the athletic administration created?
You are seeking vengeance in the wrong places...

Here's to Hoke and Co. putting a serious beating on them come next Fall.
December 31st, 2013 at 10:51 PM ^
Don't blame them for beating UM when UM blew the game. What are they supposed to do, give the win to UM? It's in UM's best interest for PSU to be good, for our games to be televised, to have a rivalry like we had in the early and mid 2000's, etc. Don't blame PSU for UM's deficiencies.

Doesn't mean I can't hate them for winning, though.

Greg Schiano is a very overrated coach. He only had one good season at Rutgers and thats about it.

Perfect fit for an overrated program, then.

They should hire Al Borges, I've heard that guy is pure gold from some people on this board. Please PSU? I'll buy the plane ticket!
December 31st, 2013 at 11:28 PM ^
This really sucks for PSU fans and college football fans. I thought he did a tremdous job under the circumstances and he was exactly what PSU needed - a calming, respectable face for the program. He came across as genuine which is rare among coaches. I have no doubt he would have absoluetely gotten PSU back to Top 25 caliber teams year in year out. I know he was a NFL guy, but I think he passed up an opportunity to be something special to that university/community. My two pennies...

other than being 60, you mean?
January 1st, 2014 at 1:22 AM ^
Yes, I still think he would be if he'd be willing to go. They need a good stable coach who can get them through the next 5 years. He could certainly do that, and with the way Duke played this year recruits will want to play for him.

here's the nightmare job Narduzzi takes
January 1st, 2014 at 2:00 AM ^
Maybe I'm talking crazy, but if Hoke is fired next year I would not be sad at all if we tried to get Narduzzi to come here.
And don't give me the ''he's never been a HC before'' crap. Neither was Stoops before OU.

The big thing is I'm sure DB would do exactly that for exactly that reason. But if we offered I highly doubt he would turn it down. Coaches don't do that if the money is right. There's just no way Brandon would do it because it would f up his image.

That's like saying we shouldn't extend an offer to some guy with Ohio State credentials in 1969.
That being said, the likliehood that Par Narduzzi will ever be on the Michigan sidelines is zero.

Also this is the possible scenario we could have been in if Harbaugh had come here. We'd be melting down saying what a big pos the guy is for leaving for the nfl. Although O'Brien isn't an alum.
